Just popped back to announce achievement of the day (which I definitely can't take credit for): finally have managed to crack the code on the keysafe by our door - only 8+ years after we moved in and I stupidly threw out the piece of paper with the code on from the previous owner! DH had done most of the wheel turning, I just happened to make the last turn! Code now changed to something memorableMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Well that made me laugh (sorry!) our local one is just four numbers on a press-button thing. Well done for getting it open! I remember spending a good hour fighting with a hotel room safe to retrieve our passports once - we (he) must have had a fat finger or no spectacles moment when setting the code upSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

🤣🤣 SC, if it’s taken 8 years to get in here, I don’t think there’d be much in it for you!

No, I guess there's a reasonable chance of you being caught in the act at that pace! Although I am sure you would speed up with practice.... 😂?
SL, you've just reminded me of the battle I had to try and unlock my suitcase one time last year. I definitely had the right code but it just wasn't working, and the only tool I had in my hotel room to try and aid me was a teaspoon 😡 Fortunately, I also had my phone and the helpful people that upload videos to YouTube - it was surprisingly easy to get into once you know how!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Morning all,
Had a super lazy day yesterday - just had no energy, so didn't do very much at all. First time in over a month I've not got my 10k steps. Veg box arrived though, so we're really well stocked food-wise. I'm considering cancelling next week's supermarket delivery slot and/or veg box, but it's hard to tell as we are definitely eating more with DH here all the time. I've got until Tuesday to decide.
Feeling a bit more energetic today and have just completed a fair amount of work, which makes a change. Managed to spill the pot of sultanas on the kitchen floor yesterday - so decided to rinse them off and make a tea loaf. So the fruit has been soaking overnight, but went to bake this morning and realised I haven't got the egg I need for the recipe. Will hopefully source some at the Coop shortly, but they didn't have any when I went earlier in the week. It may be an egg hunt kind of day! Also have various small garden jobs I need to do, but I did give everything a good water/feed this morning.
MS things:
* Clicks
* PA survey
* Work!
* Saving the sultanas
Gratitudes:
* It's a bit cooler today (don't think the heat has helped energy levels)
* Work - it's good to have a decent chunk - and it was mindless and simple
* Feeling a bit brighter today
Hope you have a good day - long weekend coming up (if it's even noticeable!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Forgot to say, I changed my mind on the food processor repair in the end - the equivalent model is out of stock everywhere and everything else was a lot more expensive (£100+), so I've agreed to go ahead with it. But I've got a 4-6 week wait without my food processor!

Morning all,
Went for another lovely bike ride yesterday. My new saddle is much better, but still a bit firm. It will do for now (and I may get used to it). Buying on Ebay secondhand saved about £30 either way and I can always resell it if I get another one. We actually cycled far enough to have a destination - just a little village church, but it felt nice to have a goal and a clear halfway point. We sat and enjoyed a satsuma each on a bench in the churchyard when we got there! Next week's ride already planned.
I've just ordered a couple of bits for the pond - in one case, from Amazon just to use some S&S credit. Am trying to minimise spending from now until the end of the month. Still undecided about food deliveries on Thursday - will have a look at that today. The issue is that because we're sharing our weekly deliveries with the in-laws it would be two weeks, or near enough two weeks until we had another one.... things might be a bit tight by then!
I did make the bara brith on Friday - Mum had got me eggs, as requested (very fancy blue ones, no idea why?!), so I popped down and picked them and the spray starch up. On the way back I dropped something off at my Sisters'. It was so lovely to see her and niece, but so hard not to give niece a cuddle - she was very good about keeping her distance, but it didn't make it any easier.
Hoping that now the wind has died down I'll be able to get out in the garden today - not a lot to do, but there's always something.
MS things:
* clicks
* NV survey
* Used S&S credit to make purchase
* Finished RM CD survey
Gratitudes:
* Homemade croissants from the freezer and a lovely cuppa from DH (this is a rarity as he doesn't drink hot drinks) for breakfast
* Lovely bike ride yesterday
* Saw a red kite really low overhead and heard it calling - first time I've heard that in real life (as opposed to on TV)
Have a good day all, we've got a quiz to finish writing for this evening's family zoom call!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
