Afternoon all,
Urgh, just lost this bit of my post - it said: feeling a bit better, have done more today, saw mum for lunch.... blah blah. (Must have hit delete by accident!)
DH and I don't 'do' Valentine's so it's just a normal day here today
MS things:
* Clicks etc. done.
* Have been wearing my warmest jumper (and perhaps the feeling better thing), so heating hasn't been on much!
* Rang L&G re bicycle cover - jury's still out on that one, will see what DH says when he gets home.
* Dinner from stores (but did buy rolls and some entirely unnecessary reduced cookies while I was out)
* Lots of work
* There have been multiple bids on one item on ebay - most exciting! :l
Gratitudes:
* Feeling a bit better
* Mum brought some of the family legend that is apple and orange flan with her to go with lunch
* Lovely playtime with ginger cat (who brought me his soggy favourite mouse especially!)
Have a great evening all, whether or not you're doing anything for Valentine's day.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hi Mad Vix. Just catching up and sorry to hear you have been unwell. I hope you are on the mend now. We don't do Valentines Day here either, although we must have done at some point because we got engaged on Valentines Day. Anyhoo 37 years later and it just seems false tbh... love is demonstrated in the everyday and mundane little things you do for each other, not a overpriced bunch of red roses once a year.4

Same here - my DH refers to today as national half-price flowers day and I often receive something but very much not a valentineSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Evening all,
I've just discovered that everyone's been hanging out on the forums today and avoiding the weather - lots of chat going on!
Busy Mee - that you got engaged on Valentine's Day and don't celebrate it now made me smile.DH and I got together on the 17th so we usually do something nice then - we just like being different/awkward! As you say, it's the small things every day that say 'I love you', not the once-a-year-when-the-marketers-tell-you-to thing.
Before the weather got too bad this morning we managed to get out for a walk which was nice - just an hour and not very far (still taking it a bit easy), but so nice to stretch our legs and see some greenery! Otherwise it's been a day of not a lot inside. DH has pootled in the garage for a bit (found some bits to sell) and I've plotted an NTbB adventure or two (one is quite a major event - three properties in two days with a hotel stay and rural buses to negotiate!).
MS things:
* Did my clicks as I was sat here anyway - it's rare that they get done at the weekend!
* DH hasn't/has sold the car. No bids on ebay but an apologetic message from a man who has arranged to come and buy it for cash at 8 am tomorrow! We'll see what happens...
* Lunch was leftover bits and dinner will be veggie sausage and mash. The freezer still seems full but there's not a lot of actual edible food... I need to do a supermarket delivery, but as most of that's freezer stuff I think I need to have a sort out!
* More bids on ebay on one of the items I'm selling.
Gratitudes:
* Exercise
* (very) fresh air
* quality time with DH
Have decided we're going to find somewhere for breakfast tomorrow after the man's been about the car.

No such luck I’m afraid. DH has a message at six am that the man had got to Coventry (?! Where was he coming from?!), but the roads were like rivers - frankly I was relieved - the weather is so vile that it’s not worth the risk. He says he’ll come next weekend if we still have it then.
Still going for breakfast though... just need to get up... wind kept me awake most of the night.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hmmm Valentines Day. Every year we do the whole comedy sketch:
"Do we still buy each other a card for that?"
Mrs SJ - "I bought you one last year but you didn't get me one, so you can get stuffed this year"
Me - "No you didn't. And actually I bought you a new set of head phones as the dog chewed your others"
Mrs SJ - "Well I made you a nice tea."
Me - "You did."
Mrs SJ "So, do we still do the whole card thing?"
Me - "I've no idea"
The upshot there are 2 cards on the fireplace! Thats more than enough I think!
