Thanks both - :hello: Watty!
So yesterday was spent at the funeral of my cousins' other grandmother. She was a lovely, vivacious woman and she will be very much missed by everyone. And that, I sincerely hope, is that for funerals in 2019.
Did manage to finish the work I needed to get done around the funeral, despite being out the whole day, rather than just half as intended! Parked at Nan's house (free parking and exercise - there's a steep hill between her house and the church!), which meant I popped in afterwards with mum and uncle to do a bit of sorting. There's still a lot to do.
Did manage to book a hotel for a couple of weeks' time for DH and I, down in the New Forest. It wasn't very MSEbut we did exchange an experience voucher for some of the cost and it includes breakfast on both days.
More work today, so cracking on with that. My fitbit says I slept quite well, but I feel like I ran a marathon in my sleep, so another cup of tea is required in a minute.
MS things:
* Brownie expenses cheque paid in
* Last set of stamps (for the moment) received from RM survey
* SBs - survey, Swago, spins etc. - a good day!
* Other clicks done
Gratitudes:
* For the chance to know and love the wonderful lady whose life we celebrated yesterday. She was a force to be reckoned with and so talented, kind and generous. She seemed so well at Christmas and in early January that I'm still struggling to realise she's gone (especially as she wasn't someone we saw particularly often).
* Crocuses everywhere!
* The plan to have a day out tomorrow :T :jMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Evening all,
Had a glorious day out at the seaside yesterday - walked over 10 miles and enjoyed a cooked breakfast, ice cream and most importantly, sunshine! Today we've being doing jobs, and I've been over to help Mum at Nan's. DH has been busy while I've been out too - the grass has been cut
MS things:
* Returned pair of jeans from Ebay - they weren't as advertised. Have ordered replacement pair - still saving half the price of shop-bought ones
* Clicks etc.
* Some bits brought back from Nan's which I'll put to various uses
* Biscuits baked
Gratitudes:
* Lovely sunshine, a fabulous day out (enjoying simple pleasures) and quality time with DH
* Quality time with Mum today - although the sorting was hard-going, just because of the sheer amount of stuff! (Nan wasn't a hoarder of stuff she bought herself, but she inherited things from around 4 houses as people died, so the quantities of stuff are impressive)
* Call the Midwife tonight

Love the description of your simple day out with OH. In between our two footballing superstars, golf and jobs to do we don't have many days out and that just sounds lovely - I'm off to plan something now.
We stayed in the new forest a couple of years ago as a guest at a wedding - we stayed an extra day and night. It was beautiful. No MSE advice to give other than we packed our own picnics everyday, and spent a lot of time walking. The posh hotels tend to have lots for free - pool gym, hot drinks, free papers and magazines etc.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Thanks Karma - yes, the stuff at Nan's is fascinating - we have a plethora of shoe-related items because her grandfather owned a cobbler's shop. And a few bits from Novello's, the music publisher, because another relative worked for them. Nothing of great value but fascinating all the same. Everything there has 'a bit of age' (as the auction house valuer likes to say - now my favourite phrase!) - even the card that hooks and eyes/press studs come on ('wartime strength, guaranteed rust-proof' etc.!)
Earthie - thanks, we're looking forward to the New Forest. We've stayed on a couple of occasions just for the odd night - it's a relatively new discovery for us. We're going to Beaulieu while we're there (Christmas present from my Dad), so imagine that will take up a couple of days, but we'll certainly be going for walks to enjoy the forest and probably pop down to Lymington. Breakfast is included, so we'll make the most of that and hopefully only need a light lunch. I've got Leisure Vouchers, so we may use them in the evening (last time we did in Lymington, the restaurant settled the remaining 86p and were excellent in every respect, so we might go back there!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
DH decided to go for a run this morning before work (dedicated soul! :rotfl: ) so I was awake and thought I'd better get up. Have done some yoga and work already. Cats very unimpressed that I haven't fed them yet though :rotfl:
Lots of work to get done today and I need to pop out for a couple of bits. Lovely sunny day here again, so it would be nice to spend a little bit of time in the garden, but I'm not sure whether I'll get to that.
DH and I tried a new (to us) restaurant last night for our belated anniversary meal. It was Korean and very delicious. Excellent service, different food and great portion sizes - we'll definitely be recommending them and returning at some point. It wasn't too expensive either - £34 inc tip for starters and mains.
MS things:
* A couple of SBs surveys yesterday
* Work, work, work
* Clicks (I'll do them later, too early for SBs yet)
Gratitudes:
* Great meal last night - somewhere new and within walking distance
* Gorgeous sunrise today
* Plenty of work
