    Hi all,

    I survived jury service.... and we sent the b*ggers down (drugs and a gun... not a nice pair). And I am almost back to normal - still have a cough. Unfortunately money saving went somewhat out the window (although costs will be covered by daily court food allowance). I managed to keep on top of most work too, although I did turn some down.

    Today I finally like I'm getting back on top of things - three loads of washing dried on the line, work is done, the house is clean and tidy (downstairs, at least) and my brain is (probably) ready for Brownies (which I'll be leaving for shortly). Tomorrow we're taking the Brownies out for lunch and to the local gang show (which is a variety performance put on by Scouts and Guides) - so lunch is covered then. Sunday DH and I will be spending some quality time together - as yet undecided - as it's our 16 year anniversary of being together. We will probably spend money on a meal out, but I don't care - it will also feel like a celebration of surviving the first 7 weeks of this year!

    Apart from a funeral on Thursday, I'm hoping the year will begin to improve now, and there will be things to look forward to. The longer days and glorious sunshine are helping!

    Sorry, none of this is very MSE! What I'm trying to say is that things should get back on track now, hooray! Work has been quite busy (around jury service) and is likely to be so for the next month at least, which is all to the good.

    MS things:
    * Clicks
    * Won £1 on GFK TV survey
    * No takeaway this week :)

    Gratitudes:
    * Lovely lunch at my sister's today and time with niece :)
    * Sunshine, glorious sunshine (and not being stuck in court all day today)
    * Feel I've done my bit for Queen and country :)

    Have a good weekend all!

    You can't do much mse stuff when you've got to o jury duty! And I think you've done really well to manage to take on any work as well, especially when you've been feeling so awful.

    Have a lovely anniversary celebration! My word **beams**

    Er... hi... yes, thanks Karma and New Girly.... unfortunately I spent it split between bed and the bathroom.... best not to go into details (not in a good way, if one could be construed). Next weekend, next weekend.....

    I almost booked a Groupon deal today for a couple of nights away, but there was no availability without paying a ridiculous surcharge of £70 (for a £139 offer!) so I managed to get a refund from Groupon. Quite right too - I was ready with 'false advertising' and 'contacting the relevant authorities' in my ammunition! We will still be booking something (as we have a Christmas present visit to do) but it might be the Travelodge, or a pub nearby - just not quite as fancy :(

    Lots of work to keep me busy, so I'm happy.

    MS things:
    * Withdrew another £35 from PP from Ebay sales - sent to savings (current favourite sale is 2 x Spice Girls tickets from 1998 - £5 for each one! It's amazing what people will buy!)
    * Bonus SBs have been credited for an offer at the beginning of the year. Not far off a £25 voucher now :)
    * Just been getting back into clicks etc.
    * Got ICE points on the Brownie Harvester lunch on Saturday as well as airmiles :)
    * Jury service expense claim form ready to post

    Gratitudes:
    * I'm better (I think?!)
    * There's next weekend to be enjoyed (I hope?!)
    * Free Ancestry lasted until yesterday evening - lots of new dead people found :) (what a strange hobby!)

    Fingers crossed I'm back now... Must catch up with diaries tomorrow - have been reading digests but not posting.

    Glad to hear you are feeling better. There have been some really nasty viruses around this winter. Sound like you are back to it though x

    What a shame about your anniversary! You don't quite sound sure that you've recovered - I hope you have.

    Thanks both. I think I've recovered Karma, it's just that whenever I think that something else seems to come along and hit me.

    Well... they are new dead people, it's just a funny way of thinking about it! :)

    Morning all,

    Have managed to get out of the house this morning (couldn't face it yesterday) and post my jury expenses claim and an overdue ebay parcel. Still plenty of work to do, so apart from a quick top-up shop later, that's my day planned.

    MS things:
    * Clicks etc. done
    * Used up a lettuce with dinner last night
    * Washing drying on the line (surprised it hasn't blown away yet!)

    Gratitudes:
    * Quality time with DH last night - rather than one of us being ill/being ships that pass in the night
    * Blue sky here :)
    * A robin singing his heart out on the way to the PO

    Back to work now with a kitty on my lap
