The food was great Karma - I had a sweet potato noodles dish - the noodles were see through (and a bit like eels to get hold of with the chopsticks!). Very tasty indeed. In fact, DH had an entirely veggie meal too, which is unheard of when we go out. We will definitely be returning!
Work has gone pretty well, but there's still more to do and more arriving.... I can't complain, but it's sunny outside! DH should be home shortly so we'll go for a walk in the evening sunshine.
Have been collecting the SBs codes and managed a 10p 1P survey too... I'll be at that £40 pay-out in no time! :rotfl:Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hi all,
Had a long post written the other day and lost it.... it didn't say much, so couldn't be bothered to rewrite. Not a lot happening here - still snowed under with work, which is great, but trying at times! Hoping to get caught up today, before our weekend away.
DH was away with work last night, so I had a use-up day for meals. And made some bara brith, which was very necessary
Basic clicks have been done, but survey invites have been deleted - too much time at computer already, and for much better compensation. Money from court arrived (after I'd managed to pay cc bill with all those expenses on), awaiting remittance advice, which I hope they send, so I know what I'll need to pay tax on (ridiculous, but apparently you have to pay tax on the paltry loss of earnings allowance!), and what's purely expenses. Then the rest can go to savings.
DH sold some share options the other day, so we've now technically got all the cash we need to cover the cost of moving.... and we've even found a house to go and have a look at.... you never know, we might actually move..... (although I'm struggling a bit with leaving our house now we've got it just right (internally - the problems have always really been external, but at this time of year, it's hard to remember them!).
MS things:
* Clicks etc.
* Using up bits in fridge before we go away
* Veg box and milk cancelled while we're away
* Leftover food from brownie parents' eve put to good use - two lunches for us at the weekend
Gratitudes:
* Lots of work
* Fun hour out with Mum and Niece on Monday - feeding ducks and going to the park
* Lovely weekend to look forward to

Thanks all!
I think we'll go and see the house, but I also think (and DH has come around to my view) that it's too small. It's smaller than this house, and while it has the outside space and we don't appear to be having lots of children, it would seem strange to reduce the house space on moving... There's another one we might see too though.
We had a good weekend away. The pub we stayed at wasn't up to scratch though. I've written a long complaint to the company this morning, so we'll see what they say. The rooms weren't very clean and were in need of decoration and the first night we had a room with a (closed) interconnecting door that didn't block *any* sound out... I could hear all about the lady's new sexy underwear and unfortunately the ensuing activity.... :eek: :eek: I did complain and get moved rooms, otherwise we'd have been going elsewhere for the second night. Otherwise, the New Forest was windy, but lovely and we enjoyed ourselves (too cold for an ice cream though!). We ate rather a lot too!
Still lots of work to be doing, although I do feel I'm getting more on top of it. Best of all - only four days to the weekend
MS things:
* Clicks etc. done today
* Meerkat meals for one of the meals out
* BIL and Fiancee did cat care - gift bought as TY is cheaper than cattery!
Gratitudes:
* Beautiful countryside and livestock
* Saw some great cars at Beaulieu (and enjoyed the palace too)
* Quality time with DH
Enjoy the afternoon folks!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oh my word! Horror struck at the interconnecting door that blocked no noise! Even ordinary noise is bad enough ... yikes.
I'm glad the New Forest was up to snuff thoughand it sounds like you had a great time
On house viewings: definitely go see it, even though it's currently too small; seeing where the line is, when you know you don't want something, is almost as important as seeing what you *do* want. Could you extend it? Because yes, even if you end up not having kids, if you want lots of outdoors, you need a fair old bit indoors to process it, iykwim! We did have a great time despite the hotel (I want to say shenanigans, but that's a bit close to the truth!)....
Yes, that's our thinking - by looking we'll learn what we do and don't want. The other property is a no-go though as apparently it's not in mortgageable condition!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

* Homemade baking done
* Bargainous 2nd hand jeans bought (and delivered) from ebay
* Leftovers for dinner last night
Gratitudes:
* A creme egg
* Actually being caught up on work, however briefly

Morning all,
Still lots of work happening here - it's not been this consistent for so long a long time, so it's lovely to really be making a difference to our income.
I haven't heard back from the pub/hotel yet, although I should in the next couple of days.
DH is away tomorrow night with work, so I'm having a freezer meal. We have a menu plan for the week and having bought a few bits to make it work (rather than just concocting meals from staples and the veg box, which is fairly normal), I'm determined to stick to it. We were getting bored with what we were eating, so it's good to change it around a bit.
That said, we shouldn't need to buy anything other than milk, eggs and a birthday card for my uncle (me) and a few car bits (my car is currently being prepped for its MOT), osteo appointment and maybe fuel (DH) for the next week... So that's the challenge... an almost NSW from Tuesday to Tuesday (excluding Brownie shopping, but I get that repaid!)
MS things:
* 3 Bay items sold (two dispatched, another packed and ready to go)
* £5 voucher received for CD RM survey
* Menu plan sorted so all meals planned for with what we've got in. Will use up remnants next week. No veg box required this week (hence having to buy milk separately).
* Clicks etc.
* Work, work, work
* Saw friends at the weekend - baked biccies to take as a gift
* Filled my loyalty card at zero-waste shop - got £10 off my bill
* DH is paying the (hopefully large) bill for work do tomorrow night towards reaching spending goal on Amex for bonus points - to be reimbursed, naturally!
Gratitudes:
* Lovely time seeing old friends at the weekend
* Sunshine two days in a row!
* General feeling of positivity and springyness in the air
