They are recruiting again in my area so I will be applying. I don't intend to stay with them long though. Just long-enough to get my own business card into the hands of enough customers to help me set up on my own.Never Knowingly Understood.

I needed an urgent repair to my PC as I was preparing a presentation for a conference. The initial response time was good as was the diagnosis of the problem by the engineer, Simon. It was a Friday. Simon said he would return on Monday or Tuesday to fit 2 parts. On Tuesday I was told by Helen at PC Callout's office that one part had arrived and the other was being delivered by courier. They would be fitted on Wednesday but they were not and the firm has not contacted me since. Promises by Helen and Clare on 3 or 4 occasions to call me back within 10 to 30 minutes were never kept – blatant lies! I arranged for the work to be done quickly & efficiently by a local engineer whose bill was 13% cheaper than PC Callout to whom I paid a £30 deposit which I have had to write off.0

Haha - this old thread is back again !!
Interestingly enough, after first reading this thread months ago - I thought , "well I have some spare time, I will apply, and see for myself the state of play".
So I did
I was contacted by Helen, for a supposed interview .. Which was comical.
She certainly dies like the sound of her own voice.
The interview consisted of her talking at me for nearly 40 minutes, after which she offered me the job !
Without once asking anything at all about my previous or current employment, credentials, experience or anything at all related to the job.
It was left with her saying she would email me over all the forms I needed etc
The next 2 or 3 weeks I was inundated with emails asking am I still joining the PC callout family !!
No Helen, no I am not
The business model is basically praying on people who are too vulnerable to seek out proper assistance.
The deal breaker for me was the fact that upon arriving at a customers door, the very first thing you have to do is get them to sign a form to say that they will pay even if you don't fix it - and that you are not responsible for any data loss whatsoever..
I can only imagine the calibre of people that are turning up at customers doors following the experiances that I have.
If you are a potential customer, I have one word .. AVOID ..
Trust me, no IT professional worth their salt would be working for this firm0 -
I work for them. They are terrible. Seriously do not give a damn about their "employees"
All the pressure is on you to do a job that the admin has taken (with no details) and they tell the customer you will be there and have it done within the hour. So every customer you are sent to has already been told that it will take less than an hour and only cost them £70, putting tons of pressure on you. Most of the time it can't be sorted in an hour (Windows Vista on a 6 year old laptop takes more than an hour to boot up, backup data and reinstall)
The main quarm I have with working ofr these pricks is they don't ever pay me on time. I recently compalined to them about how I shouldn't have to chase my payment every single time! To which they replied "if you're not happy about this we can take you off our engineers list" which basically means if you're not happy being paid late then we can fire you.
If you have chosen to work for them, good !!!!ing luck!0 -
Was thinking of applying for this job. So glad I decided to do some research first. Both here and everywhere else, it's literally impossible to find a good word about them that doesn't look staged.
Very disappointed but at least I found out in time. Oh well.0 -
well what a history lesson.
I loathe and detest stuff being in PDF form, it is so troublesome...
However the company is valued at £2
The shareholders each have a £1 share as far as I can tell.
1 ordinary share to:- Amanda Susan Holland
1 ordinary share to:- Timothy Granville Holland
Also were/are directors.
Please have some sympathy or admiration...
Accounts dated 31/10/2015 show that in 2014 there was £263,417 but in 2015 only £184,045 held at the bank (Accountants and bank in Kirkwall - Orkney). So either takings are down, or there is more spending involved (possibly paying directors).
Signed off 30th May 2016.
And a new director Alexander James Holland appointed 13 Jan 2016.
Anyway
you gotta wonder whether
Villa Esmeralda
Urb. Novo Sancti Petri,
Chiclana de La Frontera
Cadiz
really exists, as me an' google maps struggle to find it, and I blame them,
and does any director live there? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
