anyone worked for them or called them out ?

might have a chance of a job with them but id be interested if anyone has had any experience with this company

"Callout" may be a clue. Saw an advert when I was job hunting. Basically self employed. Supply own vehicle and tools. They have contracts with the likes of Curry's to set up systems, train wrinklies, repair / replace parts.

You only get paid for the time on site, and not at a particularly high rate.

Only way to make money was to drag each job out until you got your next one.

I work for pc-callout and they do give me plenty of work. They are fairly good to work for but in my opinion a bit over priced. They pay £15.00 per hour and 15 p per mile for fuel for a one hour job 20 p per mile for fuel if job goes longer. They charge the customer a £10+ vat call out fee + £39.50 per hour for first hour and then £39.50 per hour there after therefor a one hour job will cost £58.16 and for two hours £104 etc. once you send all job sheets back it takes about 30 days before you get your payment from them though they do say they pay weekly which they do but it takes a couple of months to see a weekly income.Hope this is of use to any one. If you are unable fix the fault that you were called out for the company operates a no fix no fee policy and only charges the customer the £10.00 call out fee + vat £11.75

I used to work for PC Callout a few years ago, but as I was the 2nd engineer in my area, they did tell me that the other guy would get preference. All went well for a few months then work started to slow down, and I was at home more than I was out. After a couple of weeks of next to no work, following the next job they passed on to me, I was dismissed by email, telling me I had cost them money!
Nothing was said about the other guy loading pirate software on a customers' pc I went to fix.
Oh well, C'est la vie as they say

Do you get anything in this case? I've gone to jobs that've been real basket cases where it's not possible to do an onsite repair.

You missed a golden opportunity. Just needed an anonymous phone call to MS...."This man came and fixed my computer and put on some windows software but now it says its a pirate version."

I hadnt heard of them before i was looking for a job on the job centre website and i applied for a job which didnt get off the starting line, from what i have heard you sort out your own tax, national insurance also as your classed as self employed your on call out and theres no guarantee of any work being available from 1 week to the next, if your the only engineeer for your area then yes there might be enough work for you, the amount of ads i see on the job centres site i do think maybe they have shortage of staff for various areas
