AH glad you are back safely and also glad you enjoyed Boston :). Definately plenty to see and do and not as frantic as NY. In the summer you can even get to beaches (rental car necessity) or in autumn go 'leaf peeping' or even skiing in winter in White Mountains in New Hampshire just a few hours drive north of Boston. There are also the outlets to consider north of Boston for designer 'bargains'.

Blue, would love a Sunday code if going spare. Will wait and see.

Morning all, just popped on to post that we had enjoyed our break away in Cornwall, but got a phone call at tea time yesterday to say dad feeling poorly again, so we had decided to come home today, then got another call within an hour to say he had passed away.

Just can't believe my lovely dad is no longer with us and I can't even say goodbye to him as the coroner needs to be informed and that won't happen till Monday so the earliest I can see him is Tuesday. Now don't know whether or not I want to see him then as don't know what he will look like after a few days. I would definitely have gone to see him when we got home but now not so sure.

My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences also.

Despite the positive comments of others regarding visiting their late relatives I must advise on the side of caution.
When my mum passed in 2005 I declined the opportunity to do so preferring to remember her as the vibrant friendly smiling funny person that filled the vast majority of my memories accompanied by the sound of her infectious laughter. Memories that last to this day :)

However my niece (then mid-thirties) wanted to see her late grandma and immediately wished she hadn't. Says it was one of the worst decisions she had ever made. She is still somewhat haunted by what she saw and her memories of "nan" are tainted by the images of her that day.

Stay strong and remember all the good times
