Left in the sheet by a nasty ex and will do whatever I legally can to pay my bills. I took free food from Tesco, suncream from boots which I will sell if I can and anything else I can do I will, or should I just go bankrupt or enter a trust-deed and only pay about a third of my own dept like a lot of people do now. BTW NOT in any way getting at people who have had to down this road, but I really want to try my best to avoid it

    Street finds for 2018 £26:49.

Come on guys, are you not satisfied by saving money for things you need by looking here? If you're really that hard up you wouldn't have regular access to the internet, or a computer with which to do so. There's no need to buy up bargains to sell on. And if you do you should be declaring earnings to tax man etc etc, which I'm sure most, if not nearly all, people do not.

I got my laptop from Golden R&R's and would never have been able to justify spending that sort of money when I have my daughter to raise on my own and receive no money from her dad. Also I only pay 5p connection charge with 1899 to get on the net, could never afford broadband.
All this because of this site and I will be selling stuff on that I have got cheap/free for some extra money.

Well oldbag i would say your very lucky that you havent had to turn a bit more "derek trotter" ,i am not in such a fortunate position and have had to resort to selling my old and unused stuff at carboot sales,no i didnt fancy spending my sunday morning in a carpark but then if i wanted to pay some bills i didnt really have a choice!!!!!,
i say good on the people for trying to make a bit of extra cash....

Sorry if I didn't express myself as clearly as I thought I had.

I am very fortunate that I can survive by using MSE methods, rather than having to attend Car-boots to make money. I tried it once, and after paying the organisers, the few pounds I made really wasn't worth a whole sunday spent freezing to death !!! - I have nothing but admiration for those that can do it.
Yes I do curse when I miss out on a bargain, but as I have said before ( I think during the Halfords/BSM bargain driving lessons), I certainly wouldn't condemn en-mass people who do earn money this way. As some posters have pointed out, people use whatever means they can to provide for themselves and their family. I hope I would never criticise people whose circumstances I know nothing about. If anything I admire the resourcefulness of people, and the efforts they make to ensure they are not 'spongers', and that their families enjoys the best possible standard of living
IF my situation was more desperate I HOPE I would be able to support myself and my family by every legal means possible, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I may resort to "whatever" means were necessary.......thankfully I am not in that state at the moment.
Just because I hate missing out on a bargain doesn't mean I 'judge' those who managed to get the bargain. I missed out in the brains and beauty department, but I still enjoy looking at beautiful people and listening to intelligent conversation.;)

Im a single mum that has just come off benefits and gone self employed. Its a struggle at the mo as i have only just started my buissness and yes i do have broadband ( which i have had for the past year)but the reason for this is finding the right deal at the right time. My computer was given to me as it was not needed anymore by the person kind enough.
Yes i will be doing a car boot this summer to sell the excess bargains that i have accumilated yet all depend what i sell them for as to whether i tell the tax man or not.
People like you really annoy me as at the end of the day its not right for you to judge people on what they spend or dont spend their money on as it is THEIR money.
You seem from the way you are judging people that you probably have more money than sense so what r u doing on here???
Its up to people what they want to do so let them do it in peace!

Apologies for ranting i just dont like people judging people they know nothing about.

Me and my girlfriend emptied the store pretty much!

We ended up with over £10 worth of stuff, and when they are 10p each that was quite a lot of stuff! 10 items per customer it said so we got hammers, torches, screwdrivers, sandpaper, grips, allan keys, tape measures, spirit levels, stanley knives, insulating tape, padlocks etc!

8 carrier bags full of tools! Brilliant!

Girlfriend also grabbed some glitter stuff and colouring books for the neices and nephews.
