I went to the Clifton Moor store today and got recordable CDs, bag of hair bobbles, five piece baby feeding set and a melon baller for 10p each.
Later I went to the Askam Bryan store where I got 2pk plastic bibs, bathroom mesh bag, 2pk metal fish hooks(for hanging dressing gowns etc on), 2pk lavender candles, 40pk eraser pencil toppers, and 2pk of lizard suction hooks again 10p each.
Also got a pink basics single duvet and pillowcase set half price at £3.91. They also had the double for £4.91 and kingsize for £5.91.
There was loads more 10p stuff; file dividers, travel games, toy tool kit, ice-cream scoop, cutlery, dog toys, 'feather' duster(but not made of feathers!), hair brushes, pastry wheel, can opener, cheese grater, selection of tools and bits and other stuff I can't remember now.0 -
Does this happen every year??
Does it happen more than once a year??
Is the gardening stuff@ £1 likely to go down??
I still love Tesco!!!I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:0 -
It happened last year except everything only went as low as 25p. Not as large a range and no DIY stuff.
Obviously was a big hit last year.0 -

Only just seen this post and found out about it when my mum went to Tesco at 8am in the morning. Me being in bed on first day of annual leave opted out, but when she showed me the bargains I went to Tesco Extra, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent (this was Friday). They were just pricing everything up although staff were verbally telling everyone that all stuff £1 was now 10p. Got £4.20 worth of stuff but could have gone a bit mad but I only bought what I needed! Hand towels, 4 pack of face cloths, egg cups, sets of knives, forks, spoons, extendable coat hangers, sponges, spanners, wire cutters, spirit level, grip mat liners, colanders, cheese grater, comb/brush set, cat toys, pencil crayons, garage hooks, padlocks, ice scraper - ALL FOR 10P EACH.
All good stuff for my house when I move in, don't think I needed the DIY tools, my DIY so far has been a disaster - oh well, it may improve now, my dad cringed!!!!0 -

Well at least you KNOW they are virtually brand new ! a few hours ago they were on Tescos shelves.
I feel REALLY annoyed when I miss out on bargins, knowing fully well the local car-boot salers have probably cleared the shelves.....
BUT, although I am always trying to SAVE money, so far I am fortunate that I haven't had to be a bit more 'Derek Trotter', and find means to MAKE money.
I don't know what financial straights these people are in that HAVE to resort to this on a regular basis......would you fancy spending your Sunday in a car park/field from 6am ?
Of course you will always get the ones who make an dodgy living out of this, probably don't declare the income, and spend the winter in the med.......but they are the same ones who raid all the school fayres and Church bazaars to buy things dirt cheap intending to make a healthy mark up at the next car boot.
Thats life, and at least if you missed out at Tesco, here is your second chance;)
Did they have any brand new PS2's from Asda ??0 -
Well oldbag i would say your very lucky that you havent had to turn a bit more "derek trotter" ,i am not in such a fortunate position and have had to resort to selling my old and unused stuff at carboot sales,no i didnt fancy spending my sunday morning in a carpark but then if i wanted to pay some bills i didnt really have a choice!!!!!,
i say good on the people for trying to make a bit of extra cash....Will this hammy hunt ever end ???
So far all 4 hamsters £40,3 beds £15,Skate board and u turn £22,House £25 total £97.00 ....still wanting wheel,car,slide,ball,surf board ....
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERY ONE :rotfl:0
