Hard locked mate, cannot undo restriction and not allowed mean the same thing.

I bought cheapie phone at Netto today. It's a Nokia 1112, locked to Orange and supplied with a PAYG SIM which I don't want to register because I don't like Orange's data protection terms and conditions. I only bought the phone to use oh hols with my 02 card so if it gets lost/nicked I haven't lost my good phone.

The phone itself is new but I guess it's old phone stock because enclosed in the box with it is a 'top-up-and-go' card that expired in 1999 !!!

Can I unlock it with my usual 02 SIM in it, or without a SIM in it at all.

I tried putting in a code supplied by JAYMARSH (found via forum search box) -but all the codes start #pw and until the phone is unlocked, there is no way to display letters, only numbers.

The IMEI is 355514013995932

Any ideas?

Funny day for me.Last time I unlocked my nokia 3100 without any problem.

Anyway, thanks for your help.

Now, I have to unlock altogether 5 mobiles.Is it woth buying a cable then?Do you suggest ebay?Or any other site please.

Nokia 1112's cant be unlocked by free code, every phone has a unique unlocking code generated by the phones IMEI number so no 2 phones will have the same unlock code, the only way to unlock the 1112's is by cable and hardware which your local unlocking shop or car boot will be able to do for around £5

Can you double check the IMEI number sweet, it should be 15 digits.
