I put it in and now it is not restricted but when I put another sim card in it says that there is no SIM inserted.

hi i have a nokia 6230i.
I have the nokiafree unlocking software but the phone make is not on there as i cannot find a recent unlocking software.
Anyway as said it's a nokia 6230i locked to 02

just an idea but try. Taking out the sim and blowing where you removed the sim (where it sits) then make sure there's no dust or anything on the sim.

I've also downloaded an unlocking tool but can't find the 6111 on it, is this usual?

Not all the tools that you download have all the models supported on them, you can get some that are updated quite often but with some phones you have to put settings in for other phones which can be quite tricky if you dont know what you are doing.
