Hi all,
Could someone please explain me how a network lock works for nokia 6300 (Vodafone)
Network operator provides the code via phone (£20 charge) and you key in the code to unlock the phone
- Do they generate the code dynamically or is it a static number for each phone ?
- If so, how is the code linked and connected to the handset (via operator service ??? )
- In future, is there chance someone cracking this 'network code' so that a program will be available for the consumer to unlock it just like older DCT3/4 nokia phones
Thanks very much in advance, much appreciate a reply as I'm planning to buy a 12 months contract on a free full cash back experiment as see if it works.0 -

The codes are generated from the phones IMEI number, where as the DCT3 and DCT4 phones you have 7 codes that are generated it runs on the same principle but only one code is generated, the code length varys from Brand of handset, i.e motorola codes generated from network is 8 digits and Sony Ericssons are 16 digit codes. But all codes are unique to the IMEI number and not the phone model. There should be a solution for the BB5 phones using cables and software and it most likely a case of when rather than if.0 -

I need to buy a new inexpensive mobile phone for my daughter. I want to make sure I buy one that can be unlocked. Could someone please tell me whether or not each of the following can be unlocked?
Nokia 1600
Nokia 2310

Thank you in anticipation.
