Can anyone help??

I'm on contract with O2 but had my phone stolen whilst on holiday. I now have a new sim and have bought a Nokia 6233 for it. Unfortunately the phone is locked to Vodafone.

I've tried the local phone shops who tell me Nokia haven't yet released the unlock code and that it wont be released for a long while yet.

I've tried 1 code that I acquired whilst doing a google search but that didn't work. I'm not sure if this has been tried before I got the phone.

Am I stuck with a phone I can't use?
