Anguk - adding my commiserations to the others' - hope the school gets it sorted. When I did my O-levels, there were 2 top groups, all of us predicted A/B, the odd C - one group got mostly A, a few Bs but nothing lower, our group got one A, few Bs, few Cs, rest failed (D or below) - we think it was down to our teacher, too! I passed my re-sit, but felt a failure for not getting it first time!October 2025 GC £36.83/£400

Thank you all so very much for the hugs :A Cheered me up no end and with the sunny weather I feel much better. To make my day even better, my daughter came home from school and told me she achieved A*'s in both her Reading and Listening parts of her French GCSE. She works so hard and I am very proud
Hugs to you all and thank you xx0 -
more exams stuff here, DD1 was so worried re her A level results , anyhow she got an A in pschology and a B in biology - so she is thrilled as she thought she would fail her biology - she needs 2 A's and a B to get into her uni course - so much pressure for these kids .
DD2 has achieved an A* for her English gcse too :T
Anguk i was so upset to read about your Dds results , I feel heartbroken for her, DD1 said there were lots of tears in the classroom today after the results , I hope she retakes it and does really well (((hugs))) to her
emsf sorry to hear about Dhs job , surely they could have given him more notice so you could prepare for that month . Jackie O has a lot of good ideas (((hugs)))

Thanks Bitsy and Lou for your help. At some point I will be brave and give it a go.
Jaxx: My thanks button keeps disappearing too. I thought it was just me being silly, it usually is. I have just had to register yet again even though I did it this morning AND ticked the 'remember me' button. Perhaps the forum or my computer is suffering short term memory loss. Or perhaps it is just me.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Evening All
Jaxx I managed to get my scooters on ebay. I have a small folding one that goes in the car so that we can go anywhere and a medium sized one for everyday, town, doctors etc. The little one was £200 and brand new the lady who had it was too scared to use it and the large one cost £300 so it is well worth a look.
Charbird Welcome and (((((Hugs)))))
We lost my Dad when I was 27, the year before I got married so I know where you are coming from, it is early days yet. My Dad has been gone 26 years and Mum 8 years and I still feel it on their birthdays and the anniversary that they left us.
I thought it was my computer going ditzy when I had to keep signing in, maybe there is a fault on the new MSE format
Well am off to get Dinner on. Aldi had some peppered steak on offer for £2.99 today  so I have treated us we will have that with HM wedges and mushrooms.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

emsf - Sorry to hear of your worries, as everyone has said you will survive and have plenty of support on here. Chin up.
JackieO - Your posts are so inspiring and I'm getting excited for you and your holiday!
Miffy - Hugs to you, you have lost a good friend.
Anguk - Hope your DD gets the results she needs, but it certainly seems that the school have some questions to answer.
Charbird - Congrats to your DD
Hugs to everyone else in need or want.
Work and then the hospice for me today, WM and DW on at the moment. Haven't put the hoover round for ages, must have a go in the house tomorrow. Builder should be calling tomorrow evening to put up a mirror and huge picture, will leave the rest of the jobs till after the party.
Going to dye DDs hair in a bit, that should be fun (bet we fall out!). Take care. XX0 -
last time (she got A in GCSE so she's gutted with D & U at AS level) and everyone in her Economics class has failed the exam.
Is she revising from past papers? Is she revisingthe right way for her? (go visit neil fleming's varksite for really good advice)
have you got funds for a personal tutor? We gotan excellent one a uni student who was so patient with our daughter and, having sat te exam herself, knew lots of hints as well as being unthreatening to DDMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Evening all,
Celebrated International Women's Day by having a facial with the voucher DS1 and DDIL 2 got me for Christmas....was lovely, not sure about how much better my skin looks but I enjoyed the procedure.
Hugs to Miffy, esmf, Charbird, and all who have had a less than satisfactory (to them)exam result. Congratulations on those who are happy with their results.
Had a text from DS2 earlier to say that he would be home to-night....had to make his bed as had washed all bedlinen from visitors a couple of weeks ago but just left clean stuff on beds...done now and no sign of him, he tends to visit friends on way home, so could be all hours before he arrives.
Starting another lot of swimming lessons on 27th....Tuesday is not a great night as I babysit for DD4 so she can go to yoga....will have a dash to her house after lesson but at least it will work out for us both.
Knitted a tea cosy last night, we are having a coffee/tea morning in May for Alzeimers Society and we have been asked to do tea cosies which we will sell there. It needs some decoration so will do something later on to-night and then that will be off my list of things to do.
Windy and cold here to-day....really need to get into greenhouse and get stuff started, every night I promise myself that I will do something 'to-morrow' but haven't got round to it yet.
Hugs to all in trouble of any kind, stay safe and sleep well.
