morning!
a lovely sunny one here!:j I'm off to my art class soon:) have had a quick tidy up and the WM is on.
I've somehow hurt my thumb on my right hand - dont know how but it hurts when I lift anything and generally just aches. Will try a bandage this morning and see if that helps. I need it to be ok for next week as I'm driving to Devon.
Miffy - (((hugs))) so sorry about your cat - x x x x
Esmf - sorry about OHs job - some excellent advice from JackieO(a lovely post Jackie):T
Thats it for now - better get a shift on!

Morning all,
Sunny here in Hastings today. My cleaning lady is working hard already:T
Made a tea bread too. Smells good! Thinking about some Anzac biscuits now.
Curry and rice leftovers from the freezer tonight. Decided that I have to lose the stone in weight I have put back on! So had blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
Walking is getting more difficult for me these days. My feet are sort of "dead" but it still feels like I'm walking on glass. I have a wheelchair and a small scooter for longer journeys, but I am getting increasingly housebound. Still, there are people much worse off than me, so shouldn't complain!:o
(((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) to those who need them, especially Esmf
Enjoy the day!

Hope you don't mind me posting. Saw some hugs going free and I could sure use one today! My lovely dad died at the end of Nov and today is one of those days when I feel a tad sad
I am trying to keep myself busy and the slow cooker is already on with tonights dinner in, pork goulash. Will go to see my mum later to see how she's doing and take her shopping, this is almost a daily thing and if I don't see her we speak on the phone. I just have to make sure she is ok, everyone needs someone to look after them
Tonight, we have our sons options evening, should be quite straight forward as he has a good idea of what he wants to take, he's a good lad
On a brighter note, the sun is shining with clear blue skies here in Suffolk! Hung some washing out just before 8 this morning and its nearly dry, ready for the next lot!
Hope you all have a lovely day, wherever you are  xx0 -
Morning, lovely and sunny here but chilly
Esmf- sorry to hear about DH job, will he be able to go back to the same one after a months break? If you knew some money was coming in again after the break it would ease your mind a bit.I'm sure your first reaction was panic, but take some deep breaths, get your notebook out and plan. From your posts you are good at that so you will cope
There are usually some excellent threads on eating from not a lot of food on here, might not be what you usually eat but would fill you up-cheap fillers like a big bag of spuds,Value pasta and rice to form the base of your meals, veg from AldiLidl,or if you havent one near, frozen veg is cheaper and no waste.I second everything Jackie says, she always has good advice :T Good luck and hugs, you know we are here xx
Miffy-oh no poor you,its horrible saying goodbye to a much loved pet(((Hugs)))
Hilstep, sorry your walking is getting worse,it must be so frustrating.I'm trying to lose a stone too,did really well last summer, and put most of it back on since Cmas
My friend has lent me a SWcookbook,so I should get more ideas from that.I want to incorporate it into more of the family meals,at the moment I'm doing some seperate stuff for me,tho not all the time.DS2 sometimes has different to us anyway due to his allergies,no chicken, tomatoes onions are the main ones, however since his back is fully recovered(touch wood) he has been tending to go to the gym after work and isnt eating at the same time so i could get away with giving DH and DS1 the same as me.
I may pop up to the shops later, with all the fresh fruit & veg,and lfat yogurts we have in the fridge at the moment being so bulky,I couldnt fit a weeks worth of shopping in it at the weekend and am running out of some bitsI feellike going out anyway as I'm minding DGN tomorrow and won't get chance, apart from a walk if its nice.
I am struggling with the dress I am making, its not fitting quite right around the sleeve/shoulder.Threw it on the floor in disgust last night and left it,but I like the fabric and style so will have another faff later

Hugs for Charbird, just seen your post.Losing a parent is so hard x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi Rosy,
It certainly is frustrating! When I first moved here 14 years ago I used to be able to walk along the seafront to Hastings and back again (2 miles each way) now, on a good day, can only walk across the road to get my paper.
Still, the sun is out today, so that's good!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Special hug to esmf, miffy, hilstep and charbird.

Some of our favourite things to eat have come about from a la leftovers and using stuff up. Cheapest meals I have done have been cheese, potato and onion pie, frittata, pizzza, soup and rolls or crusty bread or just egg and chips.
Nice day so far so dragged dirty washing out of dds room and stripped the bed. One load is on line and others are in queue for washing machine.
Need to get to weekly market and buy free range eggs and also go to library. DH will have some of yesterdays mince and feta bake for his lunch and will do veg soup and potato and veg cakes to have with bratwurst for tonight. DD texted her resit results this morning and has an A and two Bs so really pleased for her.

esmf - not good news. But it's good you have OS friends to give you advice.
Hilstep2000 - you moved to Hastings not long after we left there. I was telling gintot the other day about how I miss the lovely Victorian houses that we had in Hastings (first in Milward Crescent, then in Clive Avenue). I used to love the walk along the sea front too. Used to regularly walk from the Old Town along to Bo-Peep. Or other times would walk across the West and East hills to Fairlight via the glens. Couldn't do it now!
Must now go and hang out the washing in the sunshine - the WM finished about 45 mins ago, but I was on here - say no more!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0
