Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
I've lived old enough to draw my Winter fuel Allowance and whilst I would never patronise establishment where poor hygiene practices are common, I also tend to follow my old grandmother's pragmatic view that "You've got to eat a peck of dirt before you die". However, I once visited a friend in hospital, visited the loos and saw a nurse in uniform coming out of one of the cubicles. She headed straight for the Exit Door without washing her hands so I called out in my loudest voice "Excuse me, haven't you forgotten to wash your hands?" She gave me a filthy look but then saw me peering at her name badge so had no alternative to go back and wash them. If that's a common practice, no wonder we have so many infections in our hospitals.

    Well done you, Primrose :j!

Our local hospital actually encourages patients/visitors to publicly challenge staff to wash/sterilise their hands on a regular basis AND provides wall-mounted Disinfectant Hand-sprays in the corridors for staff and visitors alike - especially near doors (for use after touching door hangles/fingerplates).

    Have to agree, Primrose ;)

Too much clean, well . . . . . it just ain't good for ya! lol

There is abhorrent, sensible or near phobic when it comes to cleanliness and I'm somewhere in the mix, dependent on the situation I suppose. Back to the original subject, lol, I have shopped at a 'scoop shop' in Lowestoft, but it was ages ago and I think it was more expensive. Hmmm.....may have a look in if they're still open just to see what's on offer and if it appears well kept or not, curiosity is piqued now :rotfl:
