Would be interested to know of one in London, there used to be one in Woolwich when I lived there but I think it must have gone.

Also any local food co-op would be good!

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!

Any in Liverpool? I know there is sometimes one in St Johns Market around Christmas time, but I can never find it!

We don't have Scoop and Save up here but do have Food Weighouse. http://www.foodweighouse.co.uk/default.htm suppose can contact them to find out if they have one near you (mostly in Northern area I think) as the Directions option just gives a map to one store. First two pages on here are all Food Weighhouse Stores http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction.do?startAt=0&scrambleSeed=75058453&companyName=food+weighouse&searchType=advance&ppcStartAt=0

I have seen these stores over the years but have always wondered about the quality and 'hygiene' of the goods................ having watched what some people allow their children to do

    Any views or inside knowledge?

They are strict in the one I use in Durham, I hope most are the same, what I tend to buy from there is things like washing powder etc anyway, but it's like all things, you don't know who has touched it etc (and possibly just been to the loo before they did) along the way. Just because it's fancy packaged etc doesn't mean it's untouched is the way I look at it.

(By strict, my kids are petrified of the buckets, guy who works there told them not to put hands in incase they get bitten :rotfl: )

I love the idea of these shops! Bury St Edmunds used to have one years ago, but that's long gone! Glad to hear there's one in Sunny Hunny, but was wondering if there was one in King's Lynn, or another NOrfolk town?

  • There's one in Northwich (Cheshire) on Leicester road, think it's called Two Weigh Savings or something like that. Haven't been for ages, thanks for the reminder :)

I found the scoop and save in chesterfield today and it doesn't really work out cheaper at all - on some things it is more expensive.

I am going to take a notebook with me next time I go into town and write down some of the prices so I can compare them to tesco.

When I first saw the prices I thought it looked cheaper but when I worked it out properly It didn't work out cheaper at all. Some things even came out as double the price!

    Hi Sian,

I've added your post into your other thread on scoop and save shops as it helps to keep all the replies together.
