My father has just received a letter from New Generation Parking to demand money as he was parked in a Disabled place without displaying his badge. He is registered disabled however they have provided me with photos that on that day he didnt have his badge displayed. No ticket was left on the windscreen but they say they have 'evidence' that a ticket was left - someone must have removed it. I havent contacted them direct but emailed the National Parking Association who fully stand by what this so called company have done. I am at my wits end and worried sick ..... Can this fine escalate - do I have to pay or just sit it out?
Any advice would be most welcome as I am at my wits end. Many thanks
Not being funny but Gawd you scare easily, you must be young or not very worldly-wise about scams?! Do phishing emails also frighten you? Similar scam.
And as ManxRed already told you - the Blue Badge scheme does NOT even apply at all on private land. It is NOT EVEN A FINE! They are trying to con you and intimidate you and it seems to have worked so please listen to us about this con.
You are not liable to pay and you must not 'appeal' either (as if they would 'let someone off' their con who seems to have fallen for it - think about it!!!!).
This is a private company with an unsolicited invoice, dressed up to impersonate a parking ticket. It's fake.
The BPA who you emailed, who do you think they are then? Some sort of regulator? NOPE. They are a group of parking companies, they represent their own members' interests. What did you expect them to say?! But we would like to see their email reply as it's very possible they have broken the law (Equality Act 2010) to support their member's harassment of someone who has been now shown to be a disabled person. Blue Badge or not, your Dad COULD LEGALLY park there.
For goodness sake just calm down, show your family these links and enjoy the Summer:
Tick off the threatening letters Here.
Watchdog clip with expert Solicitor's opinion here.
Barrister's advice here. She clearly says: ''This is a private land fine. They are unenforceable. This is not a parking fine however it may look. These companies are private firms that have no more right to punish you for the manner of your parking than your neighbour does. Only the police or the local Council can do that.''
Please follow and read those links, now, so you know what it's all about and can just play a nice game of snap with the template threatogram letters.
Nothing else will happen, no CCJ, no bailiff, no-one comes knocking and there is NO EFFECT on your credit rating.
It's ONLY SOME JUNK MAIL! it really is just like laughing at and deleting a series of phishing emails.

So after my 3rd letter was sent from New Generation Parking, I hadnt heard anything for about a month, I thought "they've given up" today I get a letter from Roxburghe Debt Collectors.
My first thought was "OK its gone to far, just pay it". But again I started my research and again found all the things I wanna hear.
The threatening nature of them does put me off, but as I never committed any parking offence in the first place (I was never parked - I drove into car park, no spaces, I got out of the car to go into the bank, and my sister got into the drivers seat and moved it for me, and I was back out, got back in the car and off we went. The while thing lasted less than 5 mins).
The way the letters have been sent is so bloody sneaky, 1st letter arrived 6 days after date they put on it so I had 1 day to appeal and so on and so on.
My final thought is if they want to take me to court - bring it on! Not that it will come to that, but if it did they wouldnt stand a chance!
Just bring on the day these letters stop (if the script goes as planned).
Reading everyones posts has def reassured me so a big thank you to all!!:T0 -
Just play snap with each letter, as shown in the thread linked in my post above yours. It's easy to ignore Roxburghe, even when they use 'Graham White Solicitors' headed notepaper, it's STILL Roxburghe, a pointless debt collection firm with no powers at all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? All I can say is tell everyone you know about this scam. Put it on your facebook, tell all your friends and family and work colleagues and put these scamming b****rds out of business because god only knows how many people just pay up because they are misinformed.
People in Britain seem to be particularly susceptible to authority scams, where the protaganist takes on the role of an authority. They look, talk and write like an authority so that once they have convinced an individual that they are, they can get that individual to do anything, including paying money.0 -
My wife and I went to Boots @ Cardiff retail park last week to pick up her prescription, unfortunately due to not being able to find a parking space due to the Christmas shoppers we parked outside Boots where she nipped in to pick the prescription up, I was in the passenger seat and saw no one taking a picture and no one came up to ask for the car to be moved, if they had I would have moved it... However 1 week later (Yesterday) she received a parking tariff notice for £100 and it will be reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days.. The notice states or reason - VEHICLE PARKED/STOPPED OR WAITING ON ROAD.. Now I'm not sure if there were yellow lines as this is not stated, but the vehicle was not in any way blocking any other vehicles....
My wife is under somewhat stress at the moment due to the loss of her mother... I will have to deal with this matter... The thing is I don't know what to do...0 -
The thing is I don't know what to do...
If you read the stickies in this forum, or even just this thread, it will tell you what to do.
Do NOT pay, do NOT respond in anyway, file in the Bin!
Simples! Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Yup - The exact and most effective answer is on this very thread. IGNORE!0

Just received a parking tariff notice from these cowboys for not displaying a valid disability badge permit in Cardiff Bay retail park at 6.50pm on the run up to Xmas, pay now at reduced fee of £60 within 14 days if not it's £100. Badge had actually fallen off dashboard and was on seat, & tax disc states disabled, no notice or information left on vehicle to state an alleged breach of parking event. Funny they should have written to me as obviously I am the vehicle owner, but do I drive the vehicle!! never driven in my life, so do NGP have to provide proof who the driver was? as I am under the impression that I am not legally bound to provide them with driver details, is this correct ? grateful for any help on this0

Stop worrying! They are not the police or the council but just a tin-pot private parking company. You don't have to prove anything to them. Just ignore them. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
