Thank you, I just had a phone interview. Getting a phone call tomorrow to let me know if I have an interview. Only problem with that is that it is a large group interview at a Hotel miles from here but I've got someone who can take me.

Have applied for a few jobs and got a rejection from one.

    Major congrats Drea!

I didn't get my job from the interview a couple of weeks ago but we're into the busy season now, I checked my payslips and have been temping for just over a month so being able to pay bills made me feel a lot better about life.

Stupid Jobsite had another email address lapse-out which meant I wasn't getting the daily emails and they also just so happened to finish in the week of having the interview. That would normally annoy me but I only got back into a proper jobunting frame of mind today after finishing the last round of temping and needing a rest. Thankfully the other site's still going so I can check over those and get the shortlist refilled.

So now the emails are sorted again - hopefully -I can use the day to jump back into the apps, but have to work on balancing the temping with the jobhunt especially when interviews happen. It is difficult when the money's coming in anyway to think about the longer term!

Does anyone else apply for so many jobs that when a rejection email arrives so many weeks or months later, the impact is diminished because you can't remember who the hell they are?

    agree.

congrats for those whom have found employment and good luck to those to have interviews. How do you lot find work, via websites (which ones) or do you contact employers directly (cold calling, visiting them).

I do sometimes wonder how up to date Indeed.co.uk is. On more than one occasion I've found an interesting role but then found they were posted on the original website some time ago.

Feeling a bit low now, didn't get a call about an interview from the phone interview so didn't get one obviously and got a rejection email about that one I went for an interview with. Oh well, onto the next and I got my certificate from my Vision2Learn admin course so I passed that :D now onto the next course when I get my bank statement. I've also got plenty to keep me busy with my bloggin' and getting my house in order. Happy thoughts... :D

Congratulations Drea, hope this job goes great for you, you've earned it! To everyone job hunting, keep your spirits up, it's tough out there.

Passed my probation at my new job, which I really sweated over. I am now very paranoid of losing jobs, which isn't pleasant but realistic nowadays.

In some ways I miss the job hunting, I got into such a good mindset with it, refining my strategy until I got it right, it was just a challenge that I had to eventually achieve.

Really hard for you when there isn't much to apply for an practice on though!

My best wishes and positive vibrations to all :)

I never thought I would get the job I did....

Just a quick update... I love my new job! Everyone is so lovely and friendly, it might be rubbish pay (and my first cheque went missing in the post - great) but it's worth it to feel happy and secure.

Best of luck to everyone else, it's only a matter of time :)

Glad you're liking the job Drea. I got back to proper hunting from last week at my main site, then there's the other one to check, then the agency linked to the Evening Standard (the new one, not Londonjobs) which I haven't signed up to yet.

You never know when a busy streak's going to come crashing down temp-wise so after a quick-snap summer cold it's good to be back checking those three main sites and if companies want to delay their recruitment for the Olympics that's fine with me, the apps would have been done and I could move on to the next lot, and the travel to interviews wouldn't be so bad!
