Pupnik - sorry I can't be of much help but I have the same problem here. I'm a teaching assistant and a single mum. Signing up for an agency job is not an option for me as the wages aren't regular enough if I only get an odd 'someone is off sick and we need cover' jobs, I don't drive so have to bus it everywhere (I am not paying out for taxi's!) and I can't guarantee being home for when DD gets home (school is literally 3 mins away so she's home within 5min of the bell going). I have to admit though, the best job advert I've found while looking for 'education' in 'Liverpool' is an English Teacher...in Dubai!! Just a bit of a commute lolCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

I spotted one in Gibraltar when I was searching one 'London jobs' site - I actually considered applying for it for a brief moment before I remembered real life
I don't drive either, and I would really prefer not to have to get a car, but it does make job hunting harder. Public transport can be so bad that it is probably easier and quicker for me to get to London than it is to bus hop from town to town to get from one end of the county to the other. Of course one major difference is it wouldn't be more than £20 a week for a weekly bus ticket and the train to London is about £45 a day - eek!0 -
Another few weeks and a lot more job seeking with little success. Well thats not entirely true I've been offered a few interviews with social care agencies, they tell you about the job, tell you what to bring along and always end the conversation with 'And please bring along £X amount for your CRB check' :rotfl:I wont talk about CRB checks cos they make me annoyed, I know they are job specific so why do I need one when its to work with exactly the same type of client!
Got a lovely advisor who showed me how to do a 'white word' CV when applying for online jobs. I'm coming up to the end of my JSA(C) and cant get income based because of my partners income so I'm off to his job agency tomorrow to sign up to work in a warehouse making waterproof bags. I knew my Degree, welfare benefits, forensic psychology, and mental health training would come in useful somewhere! :rotfl:
And I'm just trying to keep my mojo up!0 -
I'm really quite fed up! I'm just hearing nothing at all, spent today badgering people on the phone and applied for 7 more jobs. I had interview after interview less than a year ago when I was looking but this silence is just horrible!
I need cheering up!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Oh Drea I feel for you I really do. I've not had an interview in over a year despite applying for more jobs per week than I ever have before (I'm a bit limited to the hours I can work as I don't have childcare but my son starts highschool in September so I'm now able to stretch my availability a bit more)
I'm back at the Work Program tomorrow to have a one on one with an advisor so I hope she can come up with some constructive advice....I doubt it though0 -

It's just so disheartening isn't it
No surprise none of us find it easy to stay positive!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Not had many interviews for a while, thought as I qualified under 2 conditions I'd use the Guaranteed Interview Scheme to get an interview (they do have an effect over my daily life). I was over and above the minimum criteria and ticked the box for the guaranteed interview. Today I received a rejection email saying I haven't made it to interview as there was so many applicants... great, I even get rejected from the GIS! Have to laugh or I'd cry.0

I've found nothing to apply for for the last 2 weeks, they have been too part time, nights, ones I can't get to or ones where a driving license is an essential. Very down about it all but trying to keep busy to take my mind off of it.0

I feel like i am still in my 'funk'
really feeling low and now for the first time ever i can see myself just giving up and totally getting use to the JSA life.
I have abosolutely no motivation to seacrh for jobs everyday, it is just too soul distroying, instead, every 2/3 days i find the energy to attack it and just apply for LOADS, today was an attack day
10 jobs applied for.0 -

I've gone the same way Lex, but then I figure it probably doesn't make too much difference, closing dates tend to be longer than a few days.
Received an application form today after sending my CV for a job. It's only one A4 sheet  usually they are at least 15 pages long!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0
