  • I am in a family of 5 too and also wondered this. Have decided to book two rooms anyhow, I suppose £30 a night is quite good value. Does anyone know if its okay to check in later at night as we might not arrive till 10pm? Thanks in advance.

you'll see that some people have had experiences where the lodge they have booked has been overbooked and they have been sent to another lodge. Apparently the problem has been widespread enough to warrant a feature on Watchdog. Therefore, arriving late at night may involve a certain level of risk.

  • the Edindevon, hadn't realised that. think we will just travel through the night and get on the ferry in the morning, saves £30 too!!!

Just bookrd 4 nights in 2 travel lodges in Devon for Easter as wasn't lucky enough to get my Sun holiday for those dates.

    Thanks to the op!
  • It's not limited to Easter - I've booked for MAY 6th at 15.00 (Chester)
  • wow, thanks! i managed to book a room in croydon central for my birthday weekend (7th april) for £15. great for me and my other half to go clubbing then crash at the hotel. we stayed there on christmas eve and the hotel had just opened, was really impressed, really nice room! have fun everyone! :j
  • We have stayed in quite a few now with 5. 2 adults and 3 kids 8, 4 and 3. The youngest 2 just top and tail on the pull out bed, and we haven't had any problems.

The Bournemouth one is really nice, only parking is a bit of a problem with a horrible underground carpark, and only a few spaces outside the front of the hotel.

In their previous £15 offer, we stayed at the new Croydon Central Travelodge and were very surprised, it was wonderful. Mind you though they will defiinitely let you know they try to keep the prices down off everything so they have no toiletries except one bar of little soap and toilet paper. No telephone for room service. No hairdryers (gotta ask at reception), you also gotta go down if youve got a problem.

    Apart from that its great.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"
  • We used the £15 deal at Thurrock two weeks ago and the lodge was far from good. Maybe cheap deal meant poor accomodation. The room was clean but that was all I could say for it. The corridors smelt. It was the most awful damp smell. We had be given downstairs rooms, so maybe upstairs may be free of the smell.
When I commented that there was no lights in the car park the receptionist quiped ' so the thieves cannot see into the cars - but they have torches '- she added.
Travelodge have always been our stopover of choice and I have never had such a poor experience.
I would be glad to hear that Thurrock is not typical and others can suggest other lodges to stop over.
