Tracking or not - this is what my smallest, Macius does every time he goes to the litter box....

I've not long swapped Pixie onto Litter Puurfect and am getting a lot of this same sort of problem when she uses the tray. Previously she had Biokatolet?? (paper pellets). Our neighbour uses LP and both her girls just squat in the tray for a wee and do a minimal amount of digging to cover up a poo so it's really easy to clean out. Was hoping for the same with Pixie but at the moment she's still digging for Britain and throwing it everywhere, plus she digs to the bottom of the tray so the wee clumps are stuck to the bottom of the tray.

If it doesn't improve I'll have to look at getting her a covered tray as she's throwing it all under the washing machine.

Have you ever thought about feeding raw? It works out far cheaper, especially if you know a decent butcher, and at least they won't be getting any processed crap. It costs me less than £10 a week to feed my 7 month old GSD and her insurance is £39 a month with Petplan. They actually lowered the premium because I feed raw!

Impossible for me to feed raw - with 4 cats and a dog - no time.
I am out of the house for like 12 hours per day and get ALL my shopping delivered. NO time to run around butchers to look for bargains...hardly have enough time to cuddle/feed/walk/clean my lot here with no time for myself... :(

    Still loving it here!

I topped up Mia's tray this morning - but that's the first time :T

Clumps are still solid and easily removed

On the other hand, Archie's tray (which was changed after hers) is already starting to look awful as the GG just isn't clumping at all and there's loads of little bits broken off & contaminating the litter:(

  • GR - did you ever try the unscented BK?

Is it exactly the same as the scented one - apart from the smell?

If you haven't tried it yet, can you tell from the bag if the grains are the same size etc?

Someone on 'our other forum' got the scented one & likes the litter but hates the smell ....... ta

Yup, on second bag of this one now - exactly same as the scented one (minus the scent).

And again only 9 days it lasts, GG was full 2 weeks.

Will go throught the million bags I have at home now and go back to GG
  • Thanks GR - I guess cats must have different wee types after all!

Some people seem to be finding the clumps great and others not

*sigh* I guess like everything else 'cat' they're all different! :rotfl:

    I love it!

I've just used a little to top up Archie's tray of GG - guess I need to let it run down & do a full change to the BK but just couldn't face doing it yet! :o Will put it on the 'to do' list for next weekend!!

  • I am getting on better with a GG/Biokat mix, although i still cannot stand the smell. I just cant be bothered to send it back to Zooplus though and take the chance that i would then get the dusty batch of GG instead.
I am actually thinking of ordering some Tigerino, just for a laugh!, for the tray that I flush into the loo. ( Woody Poop, scary stuff, has to be flushed)

Funnily enough I now have a GG/BK mix in Archie's tray as I had nothing (apart from horrid GG) to top it up with and couldn't face a full tray change again already!

    Working well here too!

Arrgggggghhhhh - I can say that no T will EVER cross this doorstep again! :rotfl:
