It is lucky that my girlfriend was with her clothes on, what if she is naked?

But she wasn't naked. She had her underwear on, which is what one would expect if she were trying on clothes.
You complained, you've been apologised to.

I went for a smear test last Thursday. After it was finished, and I was getting ready to leave the surgery and elderly male patient walked in. He'd walked into the wrong room. What if I'd been naked? I would have been (from the waist down) had he walked in two minutes earlier. But he didn't. Nobody died.

In fact every time I go for THAT procedure something untoward happens...

but I'm not about to hijack a thread!

OP - you think an English girl wouldn't have minded? Rather offensive of you to imply that it matters more to you (and her) because you're Chinese.

I would have minded. I would have accepted the apology and left it there though.

She sulked for the rest of the day? If my partner did this i'd give her a good back hander - she'll have something to sulk about then!!!!!

As the OP is Chinese, may I remind him of the story of the river and the rock.

In my opinion, any written apology from someone at the head office would be totally meaningless.

The person who embarrassed your girlfriend has apologised, as has their manager.
If you were to receive a written apology, it would be from someone who has never met you or your girlfriend and in all probablilty would be something typed out by a secretary or personal assistant and simply signed by the head of department.

In a way it reminds me of the apologies given by various governments for things that happened many years ago and were nothing whatsoever to do with the person actually apologising.
IMO, for an apology to be worthwile, it should come from the person or people who actually caused the problem or offence, and not from an unknown 3rd party.

If two apologies have failed to satisfy you, why are you so desperate for a third. You'll probably find it'll be a stock letter which has been tweaked to fit your complaint and it'll be very impersonal.
    Dear clngai,

Thank you for your letter regarding your experience in our Westfield store. We apologise for any offence caused and will investigate to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I hope this doesn't put you off shopping with us in future.

    Yours sincerely

    A.N.Other.
And by 'investigation' they most likely mean 'nothing'
