They do say you can't buy love, and, on the positive side you have an OH who thinks of you and buys you flowers and chocolates. Even if it is with your money...He is thinking of you when you're not there.

One of the hardest things about being debt free seems to be getting OH/family on board, it seems to be an uphill struggle for quite a few.

I have a man pet, not yet an OH, he's still in training for that. I asked him to pick me up some carrots for my horse from the farm shop near where he lives. Horse carrots cost between 2.50 & 3.00 for a sack. Man pet proudly appeared with a grocers tray of organic carrots that had cost him 25.00

Lol Piq! That is funny! Definitely something my BF would do! Mine has only bought me flowers once (when I had the worst day ever at work... 18 months ago!!) He does buy me other random stuff now and then though like a Simon's Cat tshirt (love!) So yeah Electro at least he buys you flowers :D xxx

  • Man Pet. I love it. I call mine my Nightmare.

In regarding to the PDL situation I think he will stay well clear of them now. I think the reality of working two jobs at the moment is really kicking in and the idea of ever needing to do that again will teach him.

I worked out a budget for him for the next 8 weeks as he gets used to weekly pay on his main job and how much needs to be saved each week to hit payment targets (rent, credit card, insurance) so fingers crossed.

I am actually quite excited about what this easter present might be though. I think it might be a giant bean bag or a animal head to go with my Deer head from Graham and Green I got in January.

I think I have a strange taste in home furnishing.

I always feel bad about eating the head off those bunnies. A years supply of Milka would be good! :D

Well the weekend cost a lot more than planned but I am hoping to have some money left in my wallet by Thursday which will mean more money into the debt/savings pot.

On the plus side my PPI refund arrived from capital one. £100 added to the savings and treated myself to a couple of games from Game that were stupidly cheap. I think they are in real trouble from the discounts they were offering.

I know I should have saved that money too but it did not even work out at 1/6th of the refund.

Fingers crossed people give me money owed today for the birthday and leaving gifts for work people last week. I do not think I am going to offer to do the shopping for these from now on. I always seem to end up out of pocket or waiting weeks and it makes me feel cheap to have to ask multiple times.

you cant save all the time, you have to enjoy yourself as well ... thus ends the stern lecture lol

i can relate to the whole buying the things and waiting for others to pay their share and ending up out of pocket ... i stopped doing it a few years ago for that very same reason
