Haha brilliant! The Cube is a great name for a block!

The BF has 2 jags, Xtype and XJ40... I would have it in Green but green is meant to be bad luck... unless you're Irish! Our jags are grey and 'Kingfisher Blue' (basically dark blue/green in different lights) why do they give them silly names?! xxx

I guess Car Colours, Paints and Lipsticks must all get named by the same group of people.

I wonder how much you get paid to come up with names like Raspberry Surprise, Morrocon Sunset, Lavender Wind and Cerulean Dream. If its lots I would like a job :-)

    Hello! A passerby here....

I have a friend who names the colours of lipsticks, blushers and the like, not very good pay, but plenty of freebies. I'm guessing you'd like the money more than the Raspberry surprise lipstick... :)

ps You've got the right attitude to your debt, you'll do well. If you don't mind I'll pop by to see how you're getting on.

Hi Piq - say hello any time :D

The money would be much more useful that the Lipstick, although there are pictures of me dressed as Wonder Woman flying around the internet :rotfl:(one off fancy dress)

  • Really pleased with myself today. While I have not paid anything else off in the strictest sense I have:

300 in a savings account for my rental desposit for the start of May so no more needed for my half there.

250 in a savings account for my holiday spending money - no more needed there.

40 in an ISA (which will be added to each month till November 2013 to pay off the credit card)

I have budgeted £140 for the next week to include travel to OH's family in Worksop (I am buying lunch for everyone... why did I suggest doing this) and food for the week. I am hoping I have at least £50 left by next friday which will go into the furniture fund.

That leavers £100 for the week after and £100 for the week after that (and £30 backup). This is probably 4 times what I really need so need to be strict with myself. I will be away for 5 days of this and have the money saved for that so I am aiming to have another £100 for the fund.

Starting to feel a bit like I am wishing my life away to get to the end of this journey already.

....oh and I added £1.01 to my seal pot :-)

  • Well the weekend cost a lot more than planned but I am hoping to have some money left in my wallet by Thursday which will mean more money into the debt/savings pot.

On the plus side my PPI refund arrived from capital one. £100 added to the savings and treated myself to a couple of games from Game that were stupidly cheap. I think they are in real trouble from the discounts they were offering.

I know I should have saved that money too but it did not even work out at 1/6th of the refund.

Fingers crossed people give me money owed today for the birthday and leaving gifts for work people last week. I do not think I am going to offer to do the shopping for these from now on. I always seem to end up out of pocket or waiting weeks and it makes me feel cheap to have to ask multiple times.

  • Last night was interesting... our housemate was cooking a chicken curry so thought we should get a bottle of Wine (£4) and I need some yogart as he makes them far too hot. The OH went out to the shops so I gave him a few coins towards it and he comes back with a !!!!!! little pot of yougart, the wine and some flowers for me.

I smile and say thanks but inside I am a bit annoyed since this was effectively bought with my own money. I questioned him on this and he said no - your money was for the wine and the yogart. This was my money. I couldn't be bothered to argue much since he did get some white roses which are my favs. Infact any white flowers I love.

Roll on a few hours and he is talking about saving for my easter present. I was not aware this was a gift occasion other than to eat chocolate. He had won a chocolate hamper at work which he gave to his ungrateful mother on the weekend I could have had for free! He says its going to cost more than £40 but less than £100 which has me worried. He owes me £650 and has his MOT and Tax coming up for his car at the end of April. On top of that is the £250 odd on the tesco credit card we use for fuel and things that get paid off quickly to earn points.

I feel like screaming sometimes and although I warned him not to buy me anything if he owes me any money I think he sees 0% to October as an excuse to spread the payments not a added bonus.

Sorry for the ramble and bad writing. Been typing this on a conference call.

I know what you mean about OH and money! Men in general have a weird view on money I think, there are a rare few (like MSE Martin!) who know what they are talking about!

Did you come to a conclusion on the PDL front with your OH? I saw your post on the loans board :) xxx
