The bars and the resturants are a lot nicer than sauchiehall street, plus a lot less drunkern students running riot @ 3am!:rotfl:
Ah well, I was thinking it was quite cheap, but I've obviously been living in the Sassenach south east for too long!0 -
thanks for all the advice so far.
I was originally wanting to move to falkirk, somewhere nice and small but with easy access to the citys, however just seen a few obs to apply for in glasgow but before I do I needed an idea of prices etc
as much as I like a night out I also very much like my piece and quiet and nice walks with the dog.
some of the links for the one bed flats where lovely, and very spacious I would be happier to pay for that unfortunatly not pet friendly.
Im really looking to pay no more than about £400 pcm if I have to go into band D council tax
when I was lookiing at property in falkirk there prices were ALOT lower than anything I have seen in glasgow that is semi decent and it appears there bands are based more on rooms than area aswell but perhaps I am mistaked0 -

Council tax banding was originally set up based upon the sales valuation of properties in the year council tax was introduced. So it had nothing to do with size specifically but everything to do with value of the properties then, so yes, bigger properties would cost more and bigger properties in popular areas even more so.0 -
On your budget, you might manage to scrape into a studio or cheap 1 bed flat in Shawlands - I've seen a couple of ads on Gumtree bordering your budget but will get a bit more for your money or a cheaper place just down from Shawlands (Langside/battlefield/Mount Florida).
As for the 'no dogs' rule, you might be able to persuade a landlord into accepting a dog if you offer a higher deposit or offer to get the carpets/curtains professionally cleaned at the end to rid the doggy smell.0
