I am in for January as much as possible, starting today (back to work), It's DS' birthday party next weekend so that will incur a small spend but I have managed to convince him to have a birthday tea at home on his actual birthday rather than go out to his favourite pizza restaurant so that will be a lot cheaper than planned!

NSD today aside from a book that DS loves, we've renewed it 8 times at the library so I think he's allowed his own, got for £2.81 on Amaz0n using Shop and Scan vouchers so not counting it as a spend.

    Hello

Just had a look back the thread and was shocked to see its 2 years since I last did the FF, so after a very undisciplined spendy last year it is definitely time to gave it another go and get a bit more control over my finances.

I am aiming for 16 days.....which will take me to my pay day on the 20th.

Yesterday I had to do a fruit and veg top-up shop so that should be enough along with freezer and store cupboard supplies to keep me going.

I also have a separate purse on the go which contains £16 for the group activities that I have coming up over the next couple of weeks, so this money to me is already spent. These activities cost £3.00 per game and £1.00 for coffee, I don't always have the coffee but I have budgeted for it just in case.

There's half a tank of petrol in the car, so it will be "shanks's pony" more often than not over the next couple of weeks.

So without further ado.......Let the Fast begin......

    Good luck everyone.

Managed NSD #1 yesterday, spent £2.30 in Tesco but have already got full refund from Shopmium (Little Dish meal).

Only going to the bank to pay in a cheque at lunchtime and straight home after work so hoping for day 2 today.

So far its the 5th of the month and I have only had one day where I spent any cash so I am quite pleased with the effort.I am determined to stay away form the shops as I have so much stuff indoors its just daft going out and buying more I like the surprise element of freezer diving for dinner :) last night I had a breadcrumbed spicy chicken fillet that I had bought Y/S before Christmas and had frozen straight away,it was really nice with some salad and I only wish I had bought more it was only 45p so a very inexpensive dinner last night ,adding the mixed salad and the large navel orange for pudding I think my meal came to about 80p which I am pleased with Today's lunch will be some of my HM leek and potato soup and a couple of crackers and some left over philly cheese and sliced tomato and cucumber.Dinner tonight will be smoked peppered mackerel and salad with a fresh fruit salad for pudding made from a diced apple ,banana, grapes and a chopped up satsuma all fairly healthy and not very expensive at all The mackerel will be from my freezer and the salad stuff from the fridge.

Staying away from the shops give me more time to catch up on odd jobs around the house
Onwards and upwards chums The shops won't be getting much of my cash this month :):):)

I left the house on 24 December to get 1-2 last minute bits and "that was it" for me. But I then got a text inviting me for tea at the end of December, so had to spend £5 on a bottle as I couldn't go empty handed ... and I've not left the house since.

So you can put me down for £5 in the last fortnight :)
  • Hi Folks

Day 4 and I'm still FFing hope you are too.

I will admit that yesterday whilst out for a walk I did pop into Sainsbugs to have a looksee at the sale rails - and lo and behold a handbag (which I do need and am using already) half price and a faux fur headband (which will keep my ears cosy while out walking) half price and best of all no money changed hands - I used my nectar points to pay......:D :j :D
