Hi everyone,
I am still here and still taking part. I am only on day 2 (Monday was officially the day from hell so I succumbed to a panini from the work cafe as opposed to my tinned soup - it made me feel better), but I am pleased with my progress so far.
For me it is all about baby steps - this challenge really has helped me to re-focus my mind and get me back on track with my money saving ways. My spending diary is back in full force as well- I am aiming to spend no more than £150 on food for the two of us before the 15th April. I know people on here do it for much less but this will be a £75-ish reduction from last month so I would be ruddy proud if we achieved that. Just turned down an offer to go to Pret for lunch and stuck to my Aldi crisps and homemade sandwiches, how strong am I?:p:D
Keep going everyone xx
ETA - I have updated my signature to reflect my savings aim for the start of July - tight yet doable xMFW

Well done everyone, some massive savings going on!
As someone just said (Kiwisaver?) it really does make you think about price v. nutrition, as well as those 'little extras' - usually coffee out in my case.
Spendless, I did the same as you today and took a £10 voucher to M&S, not the cheapest shop, but I had the voucher and want to see if I can get by on it this week, with what's in the house.
I bought milk, 2 large loaves, eggs, carrots, bananas, large tub of Greek yoghurt, a bottle of flavoured water for DD's lunches (to fill smaller bottles) and a pack of choc digestives - came to £10.10!
Would have liked more f&v, but have in couple of onions, ditto poatoes, and various frozen veg, also 3 pieces fresh fruit and some frozen stewed apple. Speedwalked past the clothing sale and came home for coffee!
Have mowed the lawn this pm so feeling virtuous. Dinner will be either cashew nut stir fry or veg spagbol, one we don't have will be for tomorrow.
Opened the ood tinned grapefruit for after lunch, it was fine.
Home again tomorrow, so may have a baking day if I feel inspired.
Cup of tea and choc biscuit will do for now though.....0 -
afternoon!
I'm on day 6 as we last went shopping last Thursday evening.
I'm on my last drizzle of fairy liquid - but apparently you can use Stardrops for washing up - so it says on the bottle.
I'm out of brown bread so its white or crackers.
One portion of tinned fruit left.(I had a pear, fruit juice and bubble and squeak with beans at work so plenty of my 5 a day there:D)
Everything else will last. We are shopping Friday night so actually will be 8 days instead of the usual 7:T and with £22 and some loose change left out of last weekd budget I'm feeling really pleased. The freezers are a bit low now though.
Everyone seems to be doing well:TDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Hi all
I've been lurking for a couple of days and was inspired to join in. I started on monday so i'm on day 3 alreadyFinding it much easier than I thought! I haven't spent anything on non budgeted things (parking and petrol are essentials!) and tried to keep to budget on everything else!
Its really made me think more about what I can do with whats lying around at home and to waste less. Going to make a job lot of carrot soup and banana cake tomorrow I think.
Sammyroser - this may or may not be helpful - depends if you can crochet?! I make little facial scrubbies out of left over bits of yarn, it saves me having to buy cotton wool etc for removing make up and is a good exfloliator too!Aug £10 a day £0/£10000 -

they are quite addictive, I end up giving them away I have so many! They seem to last quite well if you just stick them in the washer and leave them to air dry.Aug £10 a day £0/£10000
