 Win-win, peony40, you'll save a bit of money and run down the stores ahead of the removal, which will make things a wee bit easier.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Thanks Grey Queen; also we won't need to pay for the removal of said foodstuffs.
It is day 1 of my fiscal fast and I will not be setting foot outside except to put recycling bits in the bin. Got a busy day of catching up with the laundry, going through old paperwork to decide if needs to be filed or shredded and make the house presentable again. So no money spent!
Will be making spaghetti bolognese for dinner tonight using up food already in store.
I hope you all have a good day.

I have discovered my finances are not as good as I hoped so will be really going for a fast now. I have not spent a penny in a week, and am seeing if I can raid my cash for the next few months. To see if I can avoid any impact on my accounts for the next month. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

I was with family in a rather nice market town and we browsed several charity shops but nothing floated my boat. I did enjoy sitting in the sun in the park admiring the flower-beds and also looking at the many ancient and interesting buildings.
Actually, since I found a bright shiny penny on the pavement, you could say that I have fiscalled-fasted and had a net gain today.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hi chums ,back from my holidays and as usual its belt-tightening time:):) I also have a quick trip to Scotland in September to meet up with far flung cousins from Oz and Canada so I really must keep a very tight rein on my spending for the next few weeks as I know I will be spending a bit on the family reunion.
In my little brown shopping purse at the moment I have a £2.18 cash voucher from Mr T earned while on our holidays and £14.00 in vouchers which we never used so at least I have £16.18 to spend that's not 'real' cash.I am only buying essentials for a week or two and at the moment I need eggs, and fruit and veg tomorrow, but I may have a rummage in the freezer before I shop and see what I can rustle up as an alternative.I brought some cooking apples home from our holiday house as there was a nice tree in the garden so I figured half a dozen wouldn't be missed and my grandson Henry 'helped' them drop into his waiting hands this morning before we left to come home so some sort of stewed apples looks likely over the weekend I may make a crumble.I'm going to see how long I can make my £16.18 last tfirst before I have to draw any cash from the hole in the wall:):) Lovely holiday and DD went fishing with my DGS and twice they caught some sea-bass which my son-in-law cooked with chilli's and butter and pan-fried them absolutely delicious they were as well.I have some white fish in the freezer I may have a go myself with the chilli recipe.Must get him to write it down for me.I'm now toddling off to bed as the journey on the M25 today was awful.
Cheers chums

wahing machine is churning away and I'll wait for it to finish before I go to the shops.I have several cartons of long-life milk that I will use up this week instead of buying more in.I don't use a great deal of milk really ,mainly in tea which is probably 50% of my bloodstream
:)I know I need eggs ,tomato's,cucumber and lettuce and I'm just about to do my menu plan for next week. I have cheese in the freezer to get out also bacon so I don't need that. Its mainly fruit and veg to buy.I will use my left over vouchers first today to save drawing cash out I think.if its not in my food purse then it won't get used
:):) Hope everyone has a good day.Eldest DD is coming this afternoon for coffee as she too has been away She has a caravan down at Deal where she goes with her OH for weekends and odd weeks and they took her in-laws for a week last week.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and the sun shines down on you all
