Well between the Fiscal fasting and 'Ghosting Money' from myself I have saved a couple hundred dollars between this month and last month. It's good to have a little bit of a cushion in case I need it.
Keep going Fiscal Fasters!!!With much Love!! Erica Dawn

Back on track for another fiscal fast, today being day 1.
Redoing my freezer inventory today as I've been ill so have taken my eye off the ball somewhat.
Just signed up for February grocery challenge too so hoping to come in under budget again this month:)November NSD's - 70 -
I'll start a fiscal fast next week, although I will have a nessecary spend on February 1st for my rent but other than that, I hope to have a no spend week unless I get a bill in the mail on the first, those are important!!
I have also been able to 'squirel' away some money for emergencies!!! This fiscal fast is really working out for me!! I hope all of you will do as well as I am!!!
I am also really appreciating my bread machine that I recieved for Christmas. It makes AWESOME BREAD!! I think it is actually cheaper to buy a box of 6 packages of bread mix. There is nothing like smelling home made bread baking. Sure wish I could send some across 'the pond' to all of you but, that might get exspensive.
Take Care!!! Please try Ghosting/hidding money from yourself each month, even if it might be a little bit.
We can do it fiscal fasters!!! I have turned the 'fiscal fast' into a 'saving challenge'! I think it just makes it more fun.Frugal in '14!!!! God Bless all of You!!! Hi Guys, can I join you? I just spent the last week reading the first 30 pages of this thread! I am a Brit but based in Canada now.
I am ready for a fiscal fast as DH and I have some medical bills coming up in April that will be at least $10K (8k pounds) (and potentially more) and I really don't want to dip into our savings for it.
I have a well stocked freezer and pantry so should be good. I will aim to go shopping on Fridays for fruit/vegs only.
Tonight I'm making tacos for dinner using some beef burgers we have in the freezer from last summer.0 -
Hi  I would like to join too.
Payday tomorrow but we have a very expensive trip coming up at the end of next week to visit DS1 in his new home. I want to be focused to save money for that. I may need to buy bread and milk and possibly fruit for kids lunch boxes but that should be all. Shouldn't even need fuel in the cars until the roadtrip.
I am aiming to do Fiscal Fasting for the remainder of the month after the trip as I am desperate to repay our debts and really need to focus as I am so easily led astray (Damn you Grabbit Board!!).
Our cupboards/freezer etc are well stocked as are supplies of toiletteries and cleaning materials so should be easy:rotfl:.
Fingers crossed

I found the recent bad weather was great for fiscal fasting, I went 9 days without spending as I simply couldn't get out on the trike. (My adult's tricycle.). For a while I've tried limiting spending days to 2 a week; I work from home which makes it easier. I think in Jan. I had 26 NSD's out of 31, not bad going.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

Like you McC I work from home and during the winter only go out a couple of times a week. The problem is I rather like shopping and cannot resist a bargain. I went to Ald! last night for pitta bread and came away with a bag full of healthy bargains (to go with the others in the garage!).Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

It's working out great for me having a separate food purse. I will have to buy extra food on Friday as it is half term next week, but hoping to restart a fiscal fast after half term out of the way. Aiming to do quite a bit of baking while the kids are off so that I don't have to constantly buy stuff to keep them fed!November NSD's - 70

Good Morning chums well its snowing a bit here in Kent but as I stocked up completly last week on sessential items like bread and milk and fresh fruit (I even got some reduced meat and saved around £14 + so my freezer is stacked full and my cupboards as well so I know I have no food shopping to buy for the rest of this month. Its suprising how inventive one cane be when faced with a challenge and my cook books have been put to good use.Not a scrap of anything edible has been binned since Christmas which is good and all the left over odds and ends that my DDs donated to my stores have been put to good use.My DD know I will not chuck anything out if I can turn it into something to eat
:):) I just hate waste, but growing up with rationing does instill into one quite a lot of ideas. My late mum could make a meal out of almost anything .She would have loved the availability of herbs and spices that is around now.Where my brother lives in France he is around 60 kilometres from the neasrest big supermarket and at least 8 miles from the nearest small shop so both he and his partner Sandra have to make sure ,especially if the weather is bad, that they can survive without 'just popping to the shops' They eat better as they have neither the availability of supermarkets, or sometimes before their pensions come in, the deisel to get there. I live fairly close to a small prescinct of shops but do my best to avoid them if I can as I find shopping quite boring at times ,unless I really need to I'd far rather do something else
:):)
This week for example Today I am going into Lonon for a OS meeting where I will have some lunch and a good natter with old friendsTomorrow I am off (by bus as I have a free buspass ) to Bluewater where I am meeting my pal for lunch and the cinema. She is treating me to lunch as we take it in turns and uts her turn. The cinema ticket we split between us as I have a Cinems exhibitors ticket which allows one free ticket with one bought one so at the most my day out will cost around £4.00 (taken from my 'Happy stash' money )Wednesday I am off to Maidstione with my DD as she has some vouchers to spend as do I I have £21.00 in Boots vouchers left over from Christmas so wednesday won't cost anything .Thursday I am at home all day and Friday I have History club which will cost me 20p for a coffee. So this weeks spends which will not be on food but taken from my small 'Happy Stash' money will be under a fiver and I'll still have £17.00 in cash left in my 'food purse' I always keep a little bit of cash indoors for me to spend on entertainment during the week hence the ' Happy Stash'it means I don't have to touch my seperate food purse.
So good luck to you all on this weeks NSDs you are all doing so well with your savings
Cheers chums
