It is a good read but I could never be as determined as her. She doesn't allow herself the odd treat of going to the cinema or theatre or even going to the pub with friends. I have to factor my treats in!0 -
I have to consider the fact that this month and next month money will be going on my car because its MOT and tax is due end of Feb.
I need to get a netbook - they're cheaper than some laptops second hand. My laptop broke and I can't study properly to do my assignments without it. I also like to do my family tree and store all my research on there.
I want to be as determined as possible. Ideally I want to be debt free by December 2013 but if not March 2014 is my deadline I've given myself lol. It's just a case of getting down to work on it.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
So I have been making a bit of progress. I have 3 DD's set up for 3 debts. I also have post it notes labelled on the pages of my diary to remind me when they are coming out.
One will be paid in full in 6 months - so July time. That money will then move onto another debts and getting that one down.
I have contacted others. Some have replied and some haven't so while I'm gradually making my way through the pile I will hopefully be updating eachtime that I'm making a dent in this debt finally.
I'm hoping to earn enough on payday to get one of my loans cleared off. It's only £54 but I have tax, MOT and 2 tyres to buy as well! However I should be getting a decent wage so fingers crossed.
I know I will definately be clearing £111 in February off of my debt but I'm hoping to be able to make it more depending on the wage.
March will be a better start for me because my tax and MOT will be out the way so I won't have to worry about what is happening to this extra money!
If I only pay £111 off a month it will take me well over 3 years to clear my debt. That's not an option for me. I plan on doing as much overtime as I can to get this debt cleared and paid off by next year. I'm 26 and turn 27 this year. I plan on being debt free by the time I hit 28!!!DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
My car failed it's MOT so that's a load of money I have to fork out. I have managed to pay off £70 on my debts this month though so I suppose that's something better. Next month I won't have too so much to pay out on so will be paying more off on my debts.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440

oh no! What did it fail on? When I had my old car, I used to celebrate every time it didn't fail! There was always something going wrong with it lol0

Some brake stuff so I suppose that now once it's all fixed I won't have to worry too much in future. It should then sale through the next ones.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440

Ok so I had a recalculation because I haven't been keeping track of how much I paid on my debt. My actual total is a lot less than I thought it was so that's made me happy

I've worked out that over my next 2 pay days I should be able to pay and clear off three acounts which will take my debt down by about £500. I'm going to phone up each of these three companies and see how much they will accept to clear each account. Then when the accounts are finalised I'm going to ask for something in writing to make sure I have proof that the account was closed etc.
Fingers crossed that on the 12th I can get another dent into my debt

It's almost pay day. I'm actually getting quite excited. I have a few companies I plan on phoning in the morning and saying here have some money and close this account please
)
It's a nice feeling knowing that in a few days time that debt total may start with a 7 instead of an 8

I've adjusted my signature as I got paid early. It was a good wage actually and with a realistic budget I can get that number starting with a 7 by the end of the month.
I have a DD coming out to go on one debt and I'm going to use the customer payment line in the morning to clear another account and then find another one so my 2 small debts will definitely be cleared this month
I'm also being paid to crochet a blanket for a friend after she saw me making a baby one for a family friend
