CY - I remember being told that appendixes don't grumble, they're either healthy or infected. What used to be known as a 'grumbling appendix' was usually constipation. If DD2 is that unwell it sounds as if you need to call your GP - or go to the out of hours service if she's home too late. It might be a good idea for her to keep a diary of absolutely everything she eats... When I started eating again last week, onion soup gave me incredible tummy pain, just because I hadn't eaten for several days.

My brother helped me move furniture last night, so there isn't much left to do - I'll deal with the pictures tomorrow, and the last of the shoes and fleeces, and then take down the blind and curtains and dismantle the bed on Thursday morning.

I need to decide whether I am well enough to go to London for a meeting tonight. I've been planning for it for ages, but I'm not sure how much energy it will use.

Suppose I should think about getting up and doing something soon.

Jue - hope your face stays untouched and the pain starts to improve.

Morning all. I managed to complete Monday's list and have this morning cleaned the living room through. Just about to go and sweep and wash the hard floors.

Ok, floors now washed. About to start a cobweb hunt.
Spend less now, work less later.

Today I am going to concentrate on clearing paperwork in the study/store and living room. How does it all incease so quickly?

I need to find my way through to the window ledges as I can see webs in the corners. I have 3 mattresses in there. Can't remember why now??

DH can do hall floors as new vac bags have arrived in the post.

Off topic , but can anyone show me a link to a simple baby cardy for new born? Maybe pigpen? Thank you :)

  • Morning everyone!

I'm in again this week. I was doing so well last week and then got a terrible cold that kept me in bed for 4 days! I'm still not 100% so will be sticking to the basic flying this week.

Thank you for the lists Dustykitten. I like the new style!

JulieJim, it sounds like your tooth (or lack of!) is giving you a bit of trouble. Hasn't the dentist prescribed you some painkillers? If it's keeping you awake at night, it may be an idea... I hope it gets better soon. Lots of rinsing with warm salty water and drinking ice cream helps too ;)

CY.. grumbling appendix is sometimes right.. if it is a mild infection the body can deal with.. and is usually treatable.. in the professional opinion of my sisters consultant after CT's scans and an MRI (they were convinced it was ectopic pregnancy when she hadn't had sex for 5 months!) It could well be, and it is more probable, irritable bowel after her sicky bug, she is bit of a stresshead too isn't she? .. it may have just aggravated the lining of the bowel.. Whatever it is it must be making her life miserable and she needs further investigation if it has been ongoing for that long... Hopefully a good nights sleep will do her the world of good!

These little beasts were up until 5am between them all.. I am truly sick of it!

Crazel at vet at 10.. best go get the 2 of them up.. both are still snoring after their middle of the night escapades.. I have captured a cat in the middle room and found the cat box!

Still not eaten since yesterday lunch.. but it will wait until I get home I guess.

    Morning all

    Painfree vibes for you Jue

CY has your DD tried the friendly bacteria capsules? Agree with Greenbee if she is still not right then see what the GP says

Went to bed early as I felt ill and have woken with a bit of a cold. Time for a cuppa and then concentrating on first tidying, then cleaning and decluttering the family room. Must pop to Morrisons and Lidl later too.

  • Good morning all

After a week/week and a half of not doing a lot (just the very basics), I woke up this morning at about 8.00 (late for me) still feeling as if I'd been put through the mangle, but could do a bit more, so here's hoping! First load of washing is in and will see how it goes from there .....

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Basic Flying

    Sweep and mop the floor
    Clear and wipe table
    Wipe the work tops
Wipe the inside of the fridge and see what needs using up - done the using up bit already, need one or two things when i'm out and about later on
    Deep Cleaning
    Clean the extractor hood
Clean the hob, under all the dials too - if anyone watched superscrimpers last night, I'm going to see if I can follow the cleaning tips on there
Give the oven a clean, soak your shelves in the bath to clean - put an old towel under to protect the bath - as above
Washing all your hoover brushes and filters - dry all thoroughly before reusing

    Decluttering
Sort out a hotspot - the ever ongoing paperwork!
Sort out all your vases - are there any to rehome - no
Sort out all your cleaning stuff, is there anything to use up/bin/replace - loads
Do you have any pest control you may need for when the bugs awaken? - bugs as in flies, midges etc.? If so, a rolled up newspaper is always kept to hand, but i also use citronella. It's a bit sniffy, but does a good job.

Tuesday - Hall, Stairs, Landing and study/Family Room or similar
    Basic Flying

Clear the floors and hoover them - see hotspot above
    15 minutes tidying this area
    Dust any fluffy surfaces
Clean the downstairs loo and basin - haven't got a downstairs loo, but will do the one in the bathroom
    Deep Cleaning
Hoover any sofas, curtains, cushions etc
Give keyboard and mouse a good clean
Go on a cobweb hunt, is it dusty behind your desk - haven't got a desk, but will have a clean up of the area i'm creating for my very mini-office

    Decluttering
Sort out another hotspot - as above
Videos, CDs, DVDs, Books sort and rehome as necessary
15 minutes deleting emails/favourites, old word documents, blurry photos you choose
Sort out a stationery or desk drawer - do you need all those rubber bands and envelopes

Thanks for the reminder about bacteria Dusty :) I need my daily dose. I was told to have them daily while on the anti-biotics and after. I've had a lot of tummy pain getting back to eating after not eating, but not as bad as CY's DD sounds.

I have hoovered downstairs, including cleaning out the corners of the stove. I will do the rest of the house and then wash all the filters in preparation for dealing with the sawdust later in the week. There's not much point in doing much cleaning till that's over, but I will keep decluttering and then plan to do a deep clean once the decorating starts. Which reminds me... I must get hold of my cousin and plan!

ETA - GP called, and said there's no point in going in. I've now been ill for a month, went to the doctor on Feb 20th and although they have called me several times, I haven't been examined, no swabs have been taken, so they've diagnosed bronchopneumonia without an examination, and mostly seem to want to sign me off work rather than actually look at me and find out what's wrong. So I've phoned the GP service from my medical insurance, as my dad is telling I need to be examined and if necessary to go to A&E.
