Of course you're not nuts, you are finding your way of dealing with a very difficult path you've been sent on. Anything which makes it a bit easier for you is a good thing. I'm guessing it is early days for you too.

Now, I am going to give this my best shot over the weekend - I always seem to fail in the week. Have got the washing machine on and am going to work through as much as I can, deleting it as I go..

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room

    Basic Flying

    Sweep and mop the floor
    Clear and wipe table
Wipe the inside of the fridge and see what needs using up
    Deep Cleaning
    Clean the extractor hood
Clean the hob, under all the dials too
Give the oven a clean, soak your shelves in the bath to clean - put an old towel under to protect the bath
Washing all your hoover brushes and filters - dry all thoroughly before reusing

    Decluttering
    Sort out a hotspot
Sort out all your cleaning stuff, is there anything to use up/bin/replace

Tuesday - Hall, Stairs, Landing and study/Family Room or similar
    Basic Flying

    and hoover them
    Dust any fluffy surfaces
Clean the downstairs loo and basin
    Deep Cleaning
Hoover any sofas, curtains, cushions etc

    Decluttering
    Sort out another hotspot

Wednesday - Bathroom and airing cupboard
    Basic Flying

    Clean toilet, wink, shower/bath
    Hoover and wash bathroom floor
    Clean mirrors
    Wipe any dusty surfaces/window ledges
    Deep Cleaning
Give the tiles a good wash and shine
Hoover out inside your airing cupboard and wipe anything that is dusty
Descale taps (put vinegar in a small plastic bag and using an elastic band to put it over the end of the tap, leave to descale)
Clean the plug holes and sloosh with boiling water, soda crystals (or whatever you prefer, bleach, vinegar)

    Decluttering
Another HH on paperwork, can you improve your savings rates/reduce your bills (we've downgraded our virgin tv, saved £20 per month and on the whole nobody is complaining)

Thursday - Bedrooms - you choose which one
    Basic Flying

    clear and clean the floor
Remove anything which belongs in another room
    HHI (if you iron)
    Deep Cleaning
Wipe the window ledges and clean a window or two
    Hoover your curtains and blinds
    Dust lightshades and bulbs

    Decluttering
Check for signs of moths and declutter any you find

Friday - End of week roundup
    Basic Flying

Hoover anywhere not done or that needs redoing
Dust tv screens and anywhere you've missed
    Deep Cleaning
    Wipe some paintwork
    Spot clean a carpet rug
    Wipe your light switches

    Decluttering
The weather is set dry for most of us for the weekend so outside declutter:p
Empty any pots of dead stuff from last summer
Sweep up any leaves loitering in corners
Give sheds and garage a tidy up so you can get to the sunloungers and kids toys when that lovely spring days arrives (real soon I hope:D)

  • Grand declutter going well so far, been fortified by lovely al fresco lunch sourced from local town market, so time to crack on.

Juliejim - I'm the same, he's shot through loads of Gap trousers and equally good things so am going to try Ebay and see what happens.

Time to put some more laundry out, its turning into a lovely day out there,

Oh no hun that's my poor grammer I meant it was early days. I'm lucky and still have my hubbie.

Just been and picked my engagement ring up after the stone disaster. They have done a very nice job and I got an insurance valuation whilst I was there after the nasty scare.

Off to Mr T in a minute as Mr A has pizza on offer they haven't got any.

I am rehoming two cats tomorrow. Now I am starting to worry about the cost:eek:

DH has had the week off work so we have managed to get loads done. He has cleared out the shed and the store, has put up shelves and the hanging brackets I have had for over a year. There is now enough room for both the chest freezers in the store. The problem is I don't know what I am going to do with all the space in the house now the freezers are outside.

Her last op was £360... I could have got a hundred new cats for less than that!! Good job I love her!
