No you are not nuts bossymoo! If it gives you comfort then do it - I'm sure your husband is keeping an eye on you!

I went to see one with a friend (not really my 'thing' at that time, but she wanted company and booked me in to see one as a 'favour') It was at a spiritualist church, and I have to say, I was very surprised with what she told me - she described my Dad and Aunt to a tee (not an easy thing to do!) described the medical problems DD2 was having at the time (potentially fatal) and said she would be ok as her granddad was looking out for her. She also described very accurately things and events that were going on in the family at that time. The only thing she got wrong was that I had 3 children - 2 girls and a boy - I only had 2 girls. It wasn't until I was talikng to my friend afterwards she suggested that perhaps she hadn't meant that I would have another...........I'd had an early miscarriage before DD1 so perhaps that was who she meant?

Anyway I found it very helpful at the time, and in the years since as things have happened to me I've often thought back to what she said - it has been helpful! Hope you have a good experience too.

House is looking clean and tidy, so out dog training later - he is improving! Good weather is forecast so I will get as much washing out as I can and catch up with that - being out for 2 evenings this week was not helpful! Ironing will be done this afternoon or tomorrow - having a tidy house has encouraged me not to leave the board and iron out all the time and the house is looking better for it!

I realised yesterday that I used to dread anyone visiting or 'popping in' - I was ashamed of how bad the house had got but didn't know how to start getting it back in line - now after a few weeks it's looking more than presentable. It's addictive too - or is that just me? :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day, whatever you are planning! :)

Up, bed made, breakfast eaten, bins and recycling done. Waiting for the carpenter who said he'd be here between 8.30 and 9. I am very tempted to go out, but that would just prolong the agony. Having said they'd work over the weekend, they're now only working till lunchtime today and not at all tomorrow, so instead of finishing on Tuesday, they'll be finished by the end of next week... Probably... It always infuriates me how disrespectful so many tradespeople are of their customers' time and the fact that they may just have other things planned.

Parents due back from their B&B shortly (I don't think they're very impressed with it, but I wasn't well enough to check it out, and it was their decision to come down this weekend) so hopefully we'll get going on clearing the garden and maybe do a tip run or two...

    hi all

well after my steam cleaning on monday - i sort out forgot about flying and was busy with work - but yesterday i had a day at home and had a mad crisis clean using the flylady podcast..

so i am going to post the list from here and take off what i have got done in the week - but it has been done by a mixture of usual daily routines and mad crisis rather than following the organised list but hopefully next week will be better;)

Monday - Kitchen and utility Room
    Basic Flying

Wipe the inside of the fridge and see what needs using up

    Deep Cleaning
Clean the hob, under all the dials too
Give the oven a clean, soak your shelves in the bath to clean - put an old towel under to protect the bath
Washing all your hoover brushes and filters - dry all thoroughly before reusing

    Decluttering

Sort out all your cleaning stuff, is there anything to use up/bin/replace

Tuesday - Hall, Stairs, Landing and study/Family Room or similar
    Basic Flying

    Deep Cleaning
    [
    Decluttering
Is that pile still on your landing?
Sort out the airing cupboard rehoming anything you had forgotten was in there
Declutter one of your 'products' onto your body/face/hands as appropriate and have HH me time
Another HH on paperwork, can you improve your savings rates/reduce your bills (we've downgraded our virgin tv, saved £20 per month and on the whole nobody is complaining)

Thursday - Bedrooms - you choose which one
    Basic Flying

Remove anything which belongs in another room

    Deep Cleaning
Wipe the window ledges and clean a window or two
    Hoover your curtains and blinds
    Dust lightshades and bulbs

    Decluttering
Sort tights, socks, and PJs rag-bagging any which have shrunk or are thread bear
Check for signs of moths and declutter any you find
Sort your stash of wrapping, presents, cards to remind you what you have got/need or do not need.

Friday - End of week roundup
    Basic Flying

Dust tv screens and anywhere you've missed
    Deep Cleaning

    Wipe your light switches

    Decluttering
The weather is set dry for most of us for the weekend so outside declutter
Empty any pots of dead stuff from last summer
Sweep up any leaves loitering in corners
Give sheds and garage a tidy up so you can get to the sunloungers and kids toys when that lovely spring days arrives (real soon I hope)

right - so it does not look too bad:o and the house looks better than normal - so i will try again next week,

I am going to aim for an hour in the morning of cleaning from the list and half an hour of decluttering in the evenings..

lets see if i can keep it up!
I have started 2 new part time jobs this last week so i really need to keep on top of things.

This afternoon, I'm going to see a medium. Hoping for a message from my husband. Trying not to get my hopes up too high but he promised he would come and see me, and look after me and the tots.

    Am I nuts?

It's a shame AnWsMum left us.

After her OH died she carried on with some draw numbers they had (don't think it was the lottery, think it was something at their church).

The numbers used to come up at appropriate times, like the kids birthdays.

She always felt they were messages.

My notes to the fitter are written in Sharpie on my doors :rotfl:

    Doors are going, of course!

Of course you're not nuts, you are finding your way of dealing with a very difficult path you've been sent on. Anything which makes it a bit easier for you is a good thing. I'm guessing it is early days for you too?

So agree with you. Boiler/rad still not working as they should and eng thinks he might be coming tomorrow but DH out all day and I have to take DS3 to a squash comp at 9:30 - he has been warned.

Still lacking energy so shall be mainly pottering about. Hoping to go and collect my ring later which is fixed and is being valued after my little scare.

DS has just tried all his bottoms on under duress (I know which tops won't fit him) so now I have a great big pile of clothes to get rid of. I'm thinking that I might put some of them on fleabay what do you think? Normally I just give them to my nephew but some of these have never even been worn and some have got Mario and stuff on.

Worth a try Jue, I'm going to put a few gap bits on which have been worn once. Not free listing this weekend I don't think but might do it anyhow.
