Hi everyone. Had a day in bed with a stomach bug yesterday so no flying - luckily I was quite up to date on Tuesday. however I am not at all up to date with the thread:o

    If its gone it's done;)

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
[STRIKE]Wipe the inside of the fridge and see what needs using up[/STRIKE]
    Deep Cleaning
    Clean the extractor hood
Clean the hob, under all the dials too
Give the oven a clean, soak your shelves in the bath to clean - put an old towel under to protect the bath
Washing all your hoover brushes and filters - dry all thoroughly before reusing

    Decluttering
    Sort out a hotspot
Sort out all your vases - are there any to rehome
Sort out all your cleaning stuff, is there anything to use up/bin/replace
Do you have any pest control you may need for when the bugs awaken?

Tuesday - Hall, Stairs, Landing and study/Family Room or similar
    Basic Flying
    [STRIKE]Dust any fluffy surfaces[/STRIKE]
    Deep Cleaning
Give keyboard and mouse a good clean
Go on a cobweb hunt, is it dusty behind your desk

    Decluttering
    Sort out another hotspot
Videos, CDs, DVDs, Books sort and rehome as necessary
15 minutes deleting emails/favourites, old word documents, blurry photos you choose
Sort out a stationery or desk drawer - do you need all those rubber bands and envelopes

Wednesday - Bathroom and airing cupboard
    Basic Flying
    Clean mirrors
    Wipe any dusty surfaces/window ledges
    Deep Cleaning
Give the tiles a good wash and shine
Hoover out inside your airing cupboard and wipe anything that is dusty
Descale taps (put vinegar in a small plastic bag and using an elastic band to put it over the end of the tap, leave to descale)
Clean the plug holes and sloosh with boiling water, soda crystals (or whatever you prefer, bleach, vinegar)

    Decluttering
Is that pile still on your landing?
Sort out the airing cupboard rehoming anything you had forgotten was in there
Declutter one of your 'products' onto your body/face/hands as appropriate and have HH me time
Another HH on paperwork, can you improve your savings rates/reduce your bills (we've downgraded our virgin tv, saved £20 per month and on the whole nobody is complaining)

Thursday - Bedrooms - you choose which one
    Deep Cleaning
Wipe the window ledges and clean a window or two
    Hoover your curtains and blinds
    Dust lightshades and bulbs

    Decluttering

Bedroom has been emptied of everything but the bed, and floorboards are currently being taken up. Pipes will be lagged as he goes through, and then all the old floorboards will be cut up so I can use them for kindling. They burn really well - even better than pallets! I should then have enough wood to last me all summer and part of next winter.

Parents are here at the weekend (staying in the pub, as I currently have no bedrooms - one has no floor, the other is full of furniture) so hopefully we'll get lots of work done tidying up the garden.

My voice is starting to come back, so I need to be good and keep resting it.

Hoppy Birdday CY and Dadto5 :D

Flying thus far today has consisted of an absolute age brushing Sadie, and hoovering up the resultant black layer on the beige lounge carpet with the handheld vacuum!:D

I kid you not, I could stuff a mattress with what she's shedding. She seems to enjoy being brushed though; and is happy to just stand there and take it.:o

She's a GSD/Border Collie cross, quite big, mostly black, with a few white bits - a paw, and a white "shirt front" iyswim; so it's mainly black hair I'm getting everywhere - including all over my clothes!:D

I've also taken her bed outside and given it as much of a beating as I can (it's one of those flat mattress type beds, with a fluffy cover on).

I think all I can do this week is keep the dog-hair hoovered up and just do the basic s&s and stuff necessary for hygiene; I've told Mr LW not to do the "big" weekly hoover round til Sadie's gone home, mid afternoon on Sunday.:D He usually does it on a Saturday.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I have been a very good flylady. The drawer that doesn't fully open has been emptied and some carp (plastic junk) from when the Vallikids were little has been flung. I've also flung a knife that I got as part of a (not very good) set in 1984 when somehting happened;) and some other 'this has been in here X years and hasn't been used' items.
The fitter now has keys and they would like, if possible, to do late nights and get it usable by Friday...do I mind - erm no!!
The sweets tin (use by date 2006) put on top of the cupboard 'in case I need a cake tin' has gone into recycling...

    It was used precisely...

    never!

    Happy Birthday CYCLINGHSHappyBirthdayBalloons.gifand dadto5

So THIS is what I am 'losing'

    • having the TD in the shed because it won't fit in the kitchen
    • broken oven door (carp oven anyway_
    • drawer that wont open fully
    • under unit lights that dont light
    • sliding drawers - one slides, one has to be dragged
    • wonky doors
    • badly planned/designed cupboard with almost inaccessible space
    • sink that is so badly scratched it is almost permanently stained
    • chipped sink
    • chipped hob buttons
    • oven that has no timer (but should have)
    BYE BYE KITCHEN
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

Like Valli I've been a good flylady and take my hoover to bits. I think I've probably washed bits of it that aren't meant to be, but it's been working hard with all the plaster dust last year and then sawdust a couple of weeks ago. It needs to be fit and well to deal with the next round of sawdust this week and next!

I've also had my ironing collected and washed and dried the sheets I took off my bed this morning together with the muslin curtains from the bedroom and front door. Sadly I couldn't dry them outside as the garden is being used to get floorboards in to the house through the upstairs windows!

One child has done very well in his exam and is delighted. One child has not done as well as he had hoped in his. I shall need to keep them apart after school. Sick child is still not great.

What have I achieved 2 lots of washing on the line and that is it.

    Afternoon all

    Happy Birthday cyclingyorkie :)

You're having a bit of a day with children Dusty, hope everything goes smoothly tonight.

I've cleaned the bathroom/toilet and washed and dried a load of washing. Walked to shopping centre (about a mile each way) but came home the long way through the park and had lots of doggie cuddles :D, I just timed it right.

My feet ache a bit now!

    late afternoon all
Happy Birthday CY & Happy Birthday to Mumto5's DH:bdaycake:

not so much flying as gliding freestyle this morning
made a start on too many things and ended up feeling like i hadnt achieved any.
took all the stuff out of the glasses cupboard to wash the shelves then took stuff off top of cupboard to wash that down and change papers had no work surface space so ended up putting glasses that could have all done with a wash back in the now clean cupboards so only half a job done there:o
put stuff back on top of cupboards then got all the vases down that were pretty minging as we dont have an extractor ive ashed them and wrapped them in clingfilm before putting back so they down get as minging i can just take the film off if that does.
then made the fatal mistake of washing the wall down behind the cooker and noticed the ceiling looked a bit grubby (its painted terracotta which hides a multitude of sins) i washed a patch of the ceiling BIG MISTAKE it now all needs doing and looks really bad. its got to be done anyway as i want to paint the room once the floor is relaid. still havent heard from my friends dh so guessing it will be after their holiday now.
have only just seen todays list and realise i should have been doing a bedroom or two so feeling a failed fly lady at this moment.

been dentist had my xray he said i need a crown but it will be a risk as i dont have much tooth showing aove the jaw bone so danger is it wont hold properly he said he would try it if it was his tooth as its a viable working tooth so i am going ahead but think ill have to give up things that will be risky to eat like toffee etc anyone else had a crown whos got advice or imput to offer please.

    hope everyone is well
