Dublin M50 Toll Penalty Enforceable?

Not sure if this is in the right place. Please move if not.
In August we travelled through Dublin. We are UK citizens and were travelling in a UK registered vehicle. We were horribly lost and stressed out. We saw signs warning of a toll but thought we hadn't ever arrived at it as we didn't pass any barriers.
Apparently there are no barriers and according to a letter I've just received, we went through 3 times in less than an hour while trying to find our way to the hotel and once, a week later on our way back to the port.
The letter states that it is an unpaid toll notice following a standard toll request, it is however the first contact of any sort I have received. The tolls are less than £12. They are asking a total of £166.57 including penalties.
Issues of gross stupidity and ethical obligation aside, does anyone know for certain if this can be enforced ? I may wish to drive in Ireland again, probably not in this vehicle.

Who is asking you for this sum of money? If you could provide more details it would help us to assist you."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Many thanks for responding. The letter was sent by euro parking collection plc (epcplc.com ) on behalf of eflow.1

Looked at their website. They look like a bunch of self appointed scammers to me.
If it was me I'd do the usual - ignore.0 -

Well, as it is not a penalty that has been imposed by any court of law (criminal or civil) in Ireland or the UK I would just ignore them and not respond to them."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

So how are you meant to pay if there is no barriers/toll-booths?0

Bit like London congestion charge:

I wouldn't just ignore , ask over on https://www.pepipoo.com for advice first, they probably will have more knowledge of thisExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
If it's in the hands of some private collector it will be going nowhere. An Irish court has no jurisdiction and it will be impossible to prove the case in an English court for want of evidence.
IMHO. Bit the same as the Aussie speeding ticket.0 -
I'm in agreement - with the ignoring bit.
The OP has no idea if there is some sort of toll to pay or not, - but getting a begging letter from debt collectors proves it's a scam.
Personally I bin these sorts of things - but the better suggestion is to file it away somewhere.
Don't worry about going back to Dublin again, the authorities can't tie records together for serious stuff let alone something like this.
Don't pay, don't respond.0 -

Agreed, unenforceable rubbish.
I posted some links about this in September on this thread:
