No sorry didnt mean that - meant I tried to google for dual fill WMs and couldnt find any!
So thanks for this, I had mis read the blurb on the LG machines. I have decided on one of them, just have to save the money now. Many thanks all and sorry I started a minor war , I didnt meanit LOL0 -
My current Zanussi only fills with cold. Now much of a hindrance.
My previous machine, a Whirlpool had two feeds but would only take the hot water if on a hot wash (I would hear my combination boiler kick in) otherwise cold fills.
I am grateful for a washing machine as before that is was one of those Tefal table-top machines, handwashing or laundrette !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
OP: we've recently gone through this. Our previous washer was pronounced dead by the OH after extensive exploratory surgery. It was a 10 year old LG with H/C feeds (hadn't missed a beat in that time). Replaced it on Tuesday with this cold fill LG. Good presentation of both sides of the hot/cold divide here.

The best part of that article is at the very end but unfortunately now most manufacturers no longer allow the consumer to make this choice, due to cold fill machines being cheaper for them to manufacture.
Why not let the user choose?
It would be nice if washing machines went back to having hot and cold valves and had an option button where a user can inform the machine that they want to use the hot valve under the following circumstances -- When they are not using biological detergents
- They are doing a maintenance boil wash
- They are doing a normal hot wash at 60 - 90 degrees
- They have a very cheap or environmentally friendly source of hot water and want to run the hot tap to draw hot water into the pipes before washing so that a reasonable amount goes in (for hot washes)
- They use a combination boiler which supplies instant hot water at a pressure equal to the cold supply and they do hot washes
- Their combination boiler is close to the washing machine and hardly suffers any loss of hot water through lack of pressure and cooling in the pipe work

It just bugs me that I have unlimited gallons of very hot water and then have to pay for elect to heat it up in the WM. I understand now that it's not that simple.. but nevertheless I would feel happier if it had two

The good thing here is that I had never heard of LG - and now find they have a really good name, so will get one. ;)ty0 -
glad you got it sorted, LG make alot of quality productsI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Wrong!
Well as you have not been put off by a couple of idiot posters above, a quick Google shows that despite "the regualtion being introduced" :rotfl:
they are still available e.g.
LG F1443KD
Whirlpool
Baumatic
I have the LG machine, just over 18 months old, and it is cold fill only.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.
