They once told me categorically that I could refuse paypal if I only had my item as a collection only item and when I questioned them further the CS girl became flustered and hung up on me. I phoned back and got a guy in Ireland who assured me that I must have 'misinterpreted' what the girl told me as the rules were very clear and paypal could not be refused.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I was once told to approach a buyer about stars - but i knew the Ebay rep was clueless, as its against the rules.
I did not know that a buyer could change positive feedback though - when did that come in?0 -

I didn't know you could change anything once you had submitted it, I assumed it was final, unless ebay decided to remove it.0 -

Just negative a think - if the buyer agrees (maybe neutral aswell, not sure). The seller sends a feedback revision request, and is only allowed so many over a certain period.
But i'm convinced positive feedback can not be altered by anyone but Ebay.0 -
So. Had an email back from the buyer overnight.
He thanked me for the explanation as to how the P&P was made up.
He has apologised for the low stars, and didnt know that they had a bearing on seller ratings.
He would be pleased to do whatever is required to remove the low stars.
Result.
IMHO ebay need to add a feature where the seller can question low stars, and thru the site, not directly. They should also give some guidance as to what merits a 1 or 2 star. They should also not permit any star ratings where the P&P is known to the buyer in advance ie if you bid on an item, you are happy with the P&P and the item cost.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

But if you want to think otherwise, then pull that policy clause out of your hat!

Give me any other interpretation of the above and I'll give you five stars every day for life.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Until an item arrives you don't know how much the postage would be, a lot of things you could have a fair idea but not how it will be packaged, so I don't think the "don't bid if you don't like the p&p costs" is a good argument.
Unless every seller has to state the packed weight & price they're charging for the packaging.0
