Vendor won't let us view the property again until we sign the contract

Look for somewhere else.
If they come back to your offer should be 2k less not they pay you the fees as this adds further complications in the process.0 -
We got the £1000 and the solicitor wrote to my solicitor to say they were on for an exchange last Friday. We sent our funds and awaited the call from our solicitor but it didn't come. The vendor solicitor didn't return any calls and the whole thing fell apart.
The estate agent said that it will be sorted on Monday and it isn't unusual for an exchange to happen a day or two later.
Why on earth didn't the estate agent go to the venor on Friday and bang on the door?
No idea what to do now, could wait and see but I think we call a last shot and say "£1000 off and exchange by midday or the deal is off."
There are other properties we like the look of and as it looks like a lost cause I think we have to move on if it doesn't happen tomorrow.0 -
Let the estate agent earn his money, if exchange doesn't happen Monday then move on.
I wouldn't be expending any more effort on this house from your perspective.
I hope you aren't exchanging and completing on the same day. In addition to this I would want to view the property again just before completion as you have no idea what damage the vendors will do between now and then.0
