It can drive you to despair and a breakdown. Surely looking for work keeps you busy a bit?

It does yeah, and I have a toddler floating about to look after so its could be worse.

I find I am becoming really disheartened by it all despite having more interviews than many people. I feel like I need a break of a couple of weeks from searching etc but obviously that isn't realistic.

I think that would actually be worse, getting the interviews and getting rejected.

If I was getting many interviews and not getting the jobs I would wonder why. I have not had one day off from searching, not even Xmas day

I'm not very good at interviews, I have had some good advice on here but lack confidence; I have asked about interview coaching but there doesn't seem to be any offered in the local area. A4E etc will help find jobs to apply for and help apply but nothing on the interview side of things.

Lisa - here is a link to a down-loadable workbook, it has a really good section on interviews using the STAR technique, hope this helps.

    http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/downloads/file/4306/get_on_into_work_guide

it is for Scotland so not all relevant but the interview section is really good.

I do admin/reception/cust service and have experience in challenging roles. I have asked for feedback but have never got any, they don't tend to respond.

I need mock interviews and people to actually respond to requests for feedback.

Ok sorry if I already know this but are you on the Work Programme? When did you last work and how long were you at your last company?

Would you say you were shy? Do you ask enough questions? Do research on the company? Ever failed to answer a question asked by the interviewer?
