We know and appreciate you dedicating your time to keeping us line.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the vast majority would disagree with the original post, even if was meant to be a joke (which I presume it was..)

You do a fantastic job of keeping us all in line, and it is muchly appreciated :T:T

    Agreed deputy lookingforabargain :D

Reading the posts re alcohol problems, it's something that wrecks so many lives and I'm glad for those who have escaped the harmful relationships they were in, as for the OP who's having trouble (I'm sorry I can't recall your name), I hope something gets sorted out for you and your son very soon xxx

Try driving a people carrier my car takes well over 100pound to fill!:mad:. Luckily i walk everywhere so car doesnt get used that much only on trips that i really can not walk to so only fill up once a month at that. :D

Excuse me, but isn't that your fault for buying a people carrier? :rotfl:

Re redfox, I don't know that MMW meant anything by her remark, I read it as "right, teacher's gone - MISBEHAVE!" *waits until Redfox has turned her back and starts a food fight with whoopsied cheese quiche*

I agree redfox I think has become part of the "elite"
thread wouldn't be the same without him

i think i know where MMW is coming from though and i don't think she meant it in an insulting way:)
i have seen other threads (vents etc) where straightforward swearing -not even letters blanked out, posts don't appear to get removed
not that i like swearing or anything, just wondering when we come out of probation? i'm missing HC's jokes :(:(:(rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The way I understand it is that the boards are self-moderating with the BGs "keeping watch". The only reason a thread gets raised above the parapet is if people report posts. If this happens too often and in relation to the same issue, the admin team have to get involved. If they have to get involved too often on a single thread on a single board (and there are loads and loads) then they may take the decision that this is not an effective use of MSE resources and close the thread down, no questions asked.

RF has been taking extra special care with the elite to try and help prevent there being any issues that may cause members to report posts and risk closing the thread (from use of bad language to use of flashing images, whatever). For this, I think RF is a supporter going above and beyond.

I am wondering if the reason we may appear to have less latitude than on other threads is because this one is already way above the parapet and as such is a little more vulnerable. I believe RF is trying to minimise that vulnerability.

I try to be as invisible as possible so I don't spoil your fun but I do have to make sure that the thread keeps to the rules (mainly so it doesn't get shut down, so for your sakes really, but also to protect MSE).

So yes I am watching, but then you know that, but hopefully it doesn't interrupt the flow or cause you all to feel uncomfortable.

I wish I had a teacher like Redfox when I was at school!
