i clocked a 10 items per person sign, then read it properly and it was 10 identical items not 10 maximum

So what about the Easter eggs then ? They say max 18 per customer :)

Edit: Oops sorry I think you meant the clothes sale, I thought you meant fairy etc.

Evening everyone, just nipping in really quick to say hello, hope everyones ok:)Did really well at the £1 sale today but was out most of the day visiting various T's:o:oand got majorly trouted when paying for 23 £1 items in one T's. They said their was a limit of 10 per person:eek::eek::eek::eek:I'm afraid I got a bit grumpy and asked for the supervisor, who said sorry store policy 10 per person, so I said can you give me HO's number and I would like to phone them. She said I'll void your transaction and we'll go to CS and me being stroppy(PMT;)) said no you won't,please leave my stuff where it is while I phone them.I then told everyone behind me to go to another till as I may be a while:p:p:p:p:pSpoke to HO who said sorry some stores are doing it and it's allowed. So I stood there sorting out what I wanted and splitting it between me and my mum. Then I realised some of my stuff was 50p and the supervisor said that counts as £1 sale item. I argued that £1 was not the same as 50p and she just gave up and let it all go through to get rid of me:T:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: But all in all a fab day with loads of bargains:)

    Are you actually serious??

Redfox very rarely posts on the thread, which is a shame they don't get time to take part, but it's usually when someone has done something :naughty::naughty: and they come in and gently remind people of the rules, they (sorry Redfox not sure of your gender :o ) don't come in shouting the odds, deleting posts and basically getting peoples backs up by being all authoritative.

Redfox I really hope you don't think this is how we all view you, as I said already you do a fab job.

Good for you Tweets. I put up with an alcoholic (who wouldn't admit he had a problem) for 12 years before I finally couldn't stand any more.
Freddiesmum, Tweets is right.....until your OH admits he has a problem, he's not going to change.....and of course it's far easier to blame everyone else for their problems rather than take responsibility for their behaviour.
My ex wasn't physically abusive, but drink came before everything. Every night he went to the pub. Rare family days out with the girls had to involve a pub, holidays abroad meant me on the beach, in the pool, or in bed with the children while he propped up the bar. He even left me alone with a newborn baby a couple of hours after I came out of hospital to go to the pub.
We had settees set alight when he fell asleep drunk with a cigarette in his hand.....and me and his children asleep upstairs.
Peeing the bed was a common occurence as was peeing on the childrens toys. Absolutely revolting.
The final straw was when I went out on a works do much to his disgust as it meant he had to stay in. This was before the days of mobile phones so I no way of being contacted
I got home to find the house was empty. He'd drunk himself into a stupor and my eldest daughter who was 10 at the time couldn't rouse him so she carried my younger daughter who was just 18 months old to my mums....a 15 minute walk away....in their nighties at 9 oclock at night.
He knew I would go ballistic so the coward had gone home to mummy's rather than face me.
It probably was a good thing he'd gone.....I think I would have killed him if he's been there.
But that was it....he knew I'd never have him back after that.
After we divorced he used to see the girls on a weekend....until he took them to the pub one sunday (surprise surprise) and forgot he had them and went home, leaving them behind.
I told him that under no circumstances was he to take them anywhere he was drinking ever again. He never asked to see his younger daughter since. Has never sent her so much as a birthday or Christmas card. Didn't pay maintenance, even though he had a succesful business. He now see's his eldest, but wouldn't know our youngest daughter if he passed her in the street.

Think very carefully Freddiesmum if you want to stay with someone with a serious drink problem.
I look back and think of the years I wasted, thinking he would change.....:(

Saying all that, I've been married to a really lovely second hubby for 15 years who is the complete opposite of the first one!

I felt sad reading your story as it seems to run similar to mine. My hubby always liked a drink but it got really bad in 2000 when he changed jobs and had lots of problems at work. We had 2 six month
abstinences, 2 suicide attempts (one of which involved our 20 year old son saving him from bleeding to death) and blackouts etc. He took medical retirement from his job, got a really good job at a private school-which he lost very quickly cause he had taken up drinking vodka again and 4 years ago he started to stay in bed when he was not at the pub or drunk and stopped going to work. In the end I took my teenage daughter and went to my sister's for a week. I told him to look for somewhere else to live and he moved out a month later. He does not remember the 1st month in his new flat but has been sober for 4 years now. He lives in a rented cottage a few miles away and is gradually rebuilding his relationship with his 2 grown up children.
He comes by most days and is my driver whenever I need a trip to Mr T's. He was my wingman in DTD days and loves to hear about today's glitch.
However he knows he did us all a lot of damage. We have been married for 30 years but have a lot of debt cause he drank all the money.
Anyway I would tell anyone in the same position to walk away as your own and your children's lives is more important than anything else. I wish I had done it when the children were smaller as then maybe I could have started again. However I am 57 now so a bit late for a new start.
So big hugs to all in the same position.

OMG what a mess in T's just now, managers stood around chatting instead of sorting the queues, won't go into the other details as I'll just get wound up again!

Actually at the rate that petrol is going up by its going to be better value to do an online shop (rather than drivng to Tescos and back) and pay £3 to £6 for delivery or whatever it is now eg when there is a wine festival and you can get a good enough JTD voucher or when the cat food goes very cheap. Or if you have a code for £10 off or suchlike.

....you're probably right but I love my car soooooooo much and drive it any chance I get!

but sometimes it feels like the teacher is always in the room :(

I try to be as invisible as possible so I don't spoil your fun but I do have to make sure that the thread keeps to the rules (mainly so it doesn't get shut down, so for your sakes really, but also to protect MSE).

So yes I am watching, but then you know that, but hopefully it doesn't interrupt the flow or cause you all to feel uncomfortable.
