Playing and experimenting is the way to go.
You don't have to go toooo mad with the manual settings either. Most bridge cameras have quite a lot of 'scenes'...........sunsets, sport modes, fireworks etc. its worth playing with these. My old panasonic used to take lovely countryside shots in full sunshine on the sunset setting....it'd take out that washed out appearance of grass in full sun and give it a nice hue. You'd be surprised.......just grab it now and again and spend some time with it.

I did post earlier to say that I scanned carton of randoms, they scanned full price and I realised after they had an Easter type packaging. HTHs
Going to call it time tonight for me, Night everyone. Hope no one has any bad dreams all this talk about rodents.

We were advised to put sides on our decking which we did because its well known that rats will live under them:eek::eek::eek::eek:
The thing is if you have rats in the garden the chances are someone else in your road has, what happens is they put poison down which causes the rats to hemorrage, and they literally find a hole or little space to die.
Sorry only know about rats because years ago we lived next door to a lady who was totally eccentric and her whole house was full of old food, papers, furniture you name it, and she lived in one room. We called social services, but she refused help and their was nothing they could do. We called enviromental health out and they actually cleared the house because it was over run with rats and they told her that her patio was in danger of collapsing because of the rat runs underneath it.
They used to leave us bags of blue rat pellets to chuck into her garden(It was totally overgrown) for when it got really bad. We used to keep an eye on her but you can only do so much, and one day I was sitting in our conservatory and 2 rats ran along the outside of the conservatory windowsill and that was it, I freaked and the next day our house was on the market. It was really sad though as two months later her house caught on fire, she couldnt get because of all the rbbish in there:( but my old next door neighbour said it was horrendous their were rats running out of the house and when they properly cleared the house they'd even been nesting in her mattress!!!!!
That is so sad. The poor woman sleeping with rats in her mattress.0 -
FK You should have mail! -assuming I pressed the right buttons! (too late for me!)
DH snoring away like a stuck pig! (After some beered up rantings about how I have had 4 () txt messages tonight. He even threw his wedding ring at me. (pocketed!) now where's that cash for gold site.....
Night allGwrys yn Kernow! :j0 -
I agree completely about the practicalities of a DSLR. I have enough trouble with polarising and uv filters!
Find the same probs with auto settings on my fuji too, and it truly is a learning curve when it comes too manual overrides!! (loads of dodgy results!)
As far as I remember regards the fuji forums, you have to register your camera, and you're free to post. (via website). When I was there they were extremely helpful chaps! Monthly comps with loads of gear up for grabs, I'll have a proper look again tomorrow if you need any more help, but I am seriously doubting my ability to remember log in info after so long!
And finally, I would post some of my pictures for you, but my external hard drive went completely t!ts up a couple of weeks ago and is apparently irrepairable.

All of my photos and music... gone, finito, tis no more. Arguing with computer shop at the mo about returning it to me! I'm sure someone will be able to recover data, but they have my drive! Honestly feel like I've lost my left arm!! Sad! Probably asked for it by not backing up! Grrr!
(P.S. does your camera have lithium bettery or are you hunting dtd like me?!! That would be my only real complaint!!)
Sorry everyone else that was hoping to find some T news in this post!!!!! We never have had much luck in Cornwall!!
I've just got your PM. I'll sort out the fuji forums this coming week and will POM you all the details.
My camera takes 4xAA but i got the cheap sets of Mr T's own brand 1 hour rechargables and a charger for £2 a while back. I've done 400 pics on a charge without them moaning about being low so think they are ok. At some point I will buy a set of high qaulity 2800mah ones and a trickle charger.....I got a 'few' sets of the Tesco ones so noooooo rush!
Where abouts are you in cornwall by the way? I often spend a few days either in St Ives or down on the Lizard each year.0 -

I'm using 2700mah, and they're getting knackered quick!
I'm west Cornwall, little village, St. Day, but regularly venture more west, (and north if we can face it!) Have a friend who runs a hotel in St Ives!!
Stay in touch FK!! Logged back in when I saw your post but I'm def going to bed now!! xGwrys yn Kernow! :j0 -

How many shots you reckon you get on a full charge?
Just looked up St Day.......not far from Redruth, the nearest big Tesco to St Ives. Gave that one a right good hiding back in the old 'coupon' days as they were never happy to take coupons if you hadn't bought the product.
I do like cornwall........magical place.0
