Roadside Recovery: AutoAid Feedback

I love Autoaid, can't wait to go back to them. I do get free breakdown cover for 3 years at the moment (ending in a yr) but haven't had to use it. I trust autoaid though, and know if anything went wrong, they would do their best to sort it0

Yes agree we have been members for 2 years now and I had to claim recently for the first time. They came in about a hour, which wasn't bad as I had explained I was only 2 or 3 minutes from home on foot, so would walk back and come out when they were ready to see me, and the man who came was courteous and fixed my car in munites. He explained the procedure clearly to me when he handed over the papers I needed to claim too. Despite not putting in the claim until well after the 21 days they suggest on the claim form there were no queries and it took about 2 weeks for the cheque to appear through our letterbox.0

I have noticed you can renew on line now.0

Took out Autoaid in November following recommendation on here. Had to use them today for the 1st time, excellent call centre, very nice cheerful gentleman who apologised for the potential 60/90 min delay as very busy. Breakdown truck out in less than an hour - text message confirming the arrangement received about 10 minutes later with an ETA.
Excellent service from the breakdown assistance man. Have completed all paperwork and it is in the post to autoaid. Excellent and painless..... thus far..... just waiting for the cheque.
Really please.:)0 -
Just a quick query and sorry if its been asked before, would autoaid pay out if i were to pay garage/roadside fix with a family members credit card who wasn't there with me but authorised me to use the card in case of emergency?0

Autoaid won't be bothered how you pay the bill.
You send in the receipted bill to get paid.0 -
I took out a new policy with AutoAid on the weekend. I e-mailed to ask them:
- If a continuous payment authority was registered against my credit card.
- When I would receive my documents.

You'll be fine with them. I've found they're straight-dealing. Used them several times and I'm sure I'm costing them money. Paperwork's easy. I've two caveats and they're ridiculously minor.
1) Their homestart limit is a few quid less than my local (London) garage charges, but hey-ho!
2) When my car's battery failed and wouldn't start they paid out but advised we replace the battery.
It happened again within a couple of months. I didn't have the chutzpah to send in a second claim. Fixed the battery staright away (and it turned out it very much needed it). More fool me.
I really can't complain. I'd struggle to think of a reason to leave them and regard my renewal cheque as money well spent. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I was with Auto-Aid but they wouldn't take on my Transit so moved to the RACs / Camping and Caravan Club's "Arrival" have used this fantastic service once and got recovered over 300 miles in one long trip with caravan on the back. Won't be going back to Auto Aid now although when I was with them "they did what it said on the tin"Chocolate is the solution to all life's problems. Life happens, also coffee helps.0

Does anyone know if theres any restrictions on needing a full service history, or what level of service history?
Ive just bought my first car, 17 years old and only random bits of documentation with it, not due to be MOTed again until April. Im a bit wary of paying for a policy if it turns out im not covered when I need it...0
