Kazonline wrote:Nelski, I love your posts because they allways bring great humour to the thread (as does Pooky's tumbling panda, and Catzine I miss Sylvester)
There are other Avatar things I love too - but those are the ones that stand out - oh and Nelski, I do mean what you type makes me smile (love your avatar too)... as do many other posters.
Really am going to go and shut up now. Have got some good news to tell you all..... but going to keep it until tomorrow

Hi everyone,
Well you've only got me here this evening due to the footie on the television - and boy - do I miss alot!!! For me - I love the daily thread - I'm alone a huge amount of the time - during the day and also dh is away a lot - and you lot keep me sane. Always in the thread is a good idea or something to remind me of something I should be doing or a meal idea. Queenie - don't go !!!!! - I love your threads and where is Thriftlady - I miss her meal ideas.
Have to admit I'm carp at PMing - just too shy underneath and because I feel you'd all go "who is Thriftmonster?"- and because I tend to post mornings I often miss stuff in the evenings. Having said that - I do use the thanks button to say "something you wrote touched/ amused/ helped me"
So hugs to all who need them - my memory would need a pen and paper as well -
See you alltomorrow:T
With love

Haribo Junkie, as nobody else has answered you I'll give you my take on the thanks button!
I really don't think there is any set "etiquette", you do just as you feel comfortable with. Some people like to thank every post, others thank if they've found the post informative/amusing/answering a question they've asked/or to show support or agreement.
Sometimes the button "plays up" like mine has today!!! I've had to go through this thread 3 times because my thanks button didn't like certain posters! I think I finally confused it enough that it couldn't misbehave any more!
Hope I've helped, or at least not confused further:D :rotfl:

You are not on your own Churchmouse, my Thanks button has been playing up all day too.
I think we have to watch the time we post too, as if I answered GB tonight she's already gone.
Nite all, bed calls.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Gutted, my new sewing machine doesn't work properly
but seller sending replacement, just got to send this one back. Bummer, was all raring to go aswell!
Kaz, unfair!
Everyone else who mentioned thanks buttons, mentioning people in post etc, just because I don't reply or press thaks button (which is hit and miss here too) doesn't mean I don't care. Lately I've had very little PC time, but do try to catch up, even if it's just to read, and even worry about those having problems when I am offline. Hard not to.One day I might be more organised...........

Hi all,
Thanks for all the kind wishes and tips today. With the uni work I know I need to get my bum in gear... and I am trying, it just seems like mission impossible!! Have done some reading today though, and for the first time I made notes on what I'd read so that i have something to come back to and don't have to re-read sections that i have already gone through. I get my exam results from the exams I sat in January tomorrow so hopefully that'll be a good bit of motivation if I've done well as I worked really hard (so fingers crossed!!!!!!)
Crazychick, a trip to chezzy sounds like just what I need (and trust me, I never thought I'd be saying that about ChezVegas :rotfl: )
Tinkerbelluk, maybe we should bounce our laziness off each other to see if we motivate ourselves :rotfl:
Donny-gal, thanks for the telling off. I'll tell you now that I have 2 assignments and 1 exam this semester. One assignment is 2,500 words and due 19th march and is about modernist literature  the other is my dissertation project, some of it is done already but I need to revise my biography, read 2 novels and write synopses of them, then write an essay of about 4000 words. That is due in on 23rd April. My exam is on 20th Century Fiction and will be in May time. In the meantime I have to read a novel per week. This week is George Orwell's "Keep the Aspidistra Flying"...
Anyway, bedtime with above book now.
BIG HUGS TO EVERYONE, especially those feeling ignored - I have read the thread but it's late and there are far too many people who need one tonight!0 -
I promise I'll try to be up nice and early to tell you all tomorrow (hope you all think it as exciting as I do - and no I'm not courting, engaged getting married or going to prison... it's GOOD news
, lol)
I have burst at the seams and leaked the info once tonight so am off to bed now before I spill the beans again.....
