  • Hello folks. I haven't been around for a while either as things at home have had to take precedent. Todays thread is really interesting. i too have felt a bit overlooked but am not bothered about it at all. I reckoned you just had to be here a while to start seeping in to regulars conciousness:D
That doesn't mean it's cliquey at all and I think that when some people don't respond to a specific problem it usually just means (in my case anyway) that we don't have any constructive advice. As for boring posts I don't feel that way at all. I love hearing what everyone's having for tea and what OS stuff we're all up to.
This is a fab thread and I hope to stick around.
((((((((((HUGE HUGS)))))))))) to you all whether you want one or not.

    PS almost forgot....
Have taken to bed with bad back after overdoing it this week and OH is finishing dinner for me. Reduced lamb chops which is such a treat as we don't usually buy them as they are too dear, baked spuds and veg. Pud is leftover pancakes.
Knew my back was going to give up so cooked spag bol for tommorrow too.;)

Got a weeks worth of meat in Tesco today all reduced so shopping budget will be under hopefully. Just as well as MOT is due on car tommorrow and I have a bad feeling in my bones about all the clanking the car is doing.:o

oooh, have just been brought tea in bed. How spoiled am I?

Morning. I am wondering if this daily thread is losing interest?? Personally I cannot always be bothered with it, and I wonder if others are the same???? ....

I feel like that sometimes too!! Mainly in the sense that I can't do right for doing wrong on here :rotfl:

If I post what I've accomplished in an OS vein, then comments are made/assumptions drawn about how I can possibly achieve all that I do ( ) and if I don't post about my OS accomplishments, then just what am I meant to post about ( ); if I acknowledge too many people, that gets critisized too; if I have a 'human' moment and am not all sweetness and light, yet more daggers get drawn and I'm called nasty and blanked (one swallow doesn't make a summer?); I've been accused of having multiple personalities in the form of AE's (wrongly I might add ;) ) and so there are occasions when I wonder, why bother? Obviously there are times I'm so busy *being* OS I don't have time to sit around talking about it; other times I have other priorities; sometimes I don't even bother to turn the computer on at all - and once in a blue moon (like the past week) I'm ill.

Don't know what I dare admit to and post about on today's front now :o :rotfl:

I'll leave it to the imagination - suffice to say, I've lived it ;)

  • Queenie - you give me (and I'm sure others) so much inspiration - I for one love reading about your OS and non OS activities :D
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • Can I just ask? What way does the thanks thing work on here? Is there a thanking etiquette? I tend to thank all the posts I have read and I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. i hope I'm not opening a can of worms here. I'll delete this if it's all been said before/annoys anyone.

    Hiya

Have been reading the thread but havent had time to post again, big hugs to all who have been feeling ignored, esp catowen, i normally just skim the threads:rolleyes: i do keep up with all the news though:D

Wasnt this issue raised when we were having the discussions on the daily thread a while back? quite a lot of posters thought this thread was cliquey )sp) as a few people were mentioning everyone in their posts, and the posts were getting difficult to read, it is getting back to normal now though as a lot of people acknowledge a persons post by using the thanks button, which is what i do.

Queenie - love hearing about u and your family, so dont feel its a waste of time posting, u do a lot os and give us younger ones inspiration, hugs:j

Got my 2 tops today, went to tesco but nothing there, managed to go to asda myself as dh was filling the car up and we were short of time, managed ok but glad to leave the shop!

Getting hair done tomorrow as i need a new colour, and my hair needs cut as it resembles a mop at the mo!

Bread to go on in a min:D and more washing:rolleyes:

    Hugs
    Kyle

Hi again everyone (I think we need a smiley wearing a helmet today.....)
This is the first time I've been online since this morning and as such even with a quick scanning of the posts I've been sat here over half an hour (Ok, I PM'd someone in that time too).
Personally I've been feeling very blue lately and have been reading the daily for comfort, and occasionally posting when time allowed. I do find it hard to strike a balance between reading posts and posting - and my memory is VERY bad at the moment. (I think the depression and memory/energy thing is my SAD taking a hold) There is so much going on on here too I'm often afraid that I'll only mention the people I 'know' and make a 'newer' member feel left out.....
There have been times when I've tried to post a well thought out reply only to have it lost in the 'never never' land.... and many a time I've intended to come back later to mention something and not done so..... or I come back on so late I know full well that no one is going to read it anyway.
On other occasions (As I did today) I'll send a pm instead when I read the post.... only to read further on in the thread that the person is feeling better and to worry that my PM is going to make them feel worse.....
As for the thanks button - I'm getting sick of going back over the thread to see which have shown up and which haven't. I don't know if it's MSE or my PC, but it is driving me potty. (could be my PC as the other day it even lost a load of my work which I just can't get right again...)

I do miss being 'part of the gang' because I was once a regular poster and my college comitments have meant less time on the pc... but I've missed it so much I've even got behind with my course work and stopped my morning exercise so that I could still be part of the daily.....
When I read a post I often send a hug in my mind to the person in need - my heart often goes out to many of you.
    Sorry, I'm waffling again now...
All my love to you all,
    Kaz xxx
