On night shift again!! Why do people become nurses and then say "I don't work shifts" after they are hired?????
Got the hair cut and coloured yesterday (yes, I know it's cheaper to colour at home) It's my one real vice. Don't smoke, drink, or chase men. And my hairdresser had to give me three products (they are all around 50 mls size) Considering I wash, condition, and detangle and airdry, I don't need the stuff. There's a mousse, and two sprays for protection and blow drying.
Needed my a bottle of EL Illuminator that reduces brown spots (it's almost sputtering) and they had a GWP this week, plus I had a $50 giftcard from Christmas and then they had a $15 discount for card holders. So it came in at a good price. So I got the skincare set. I know there is a bag, mirror, lipstick, a brown bottle of serum and a couple of other things. Then they threw in a bull size bottle of eyemake up remover, mascara and a lash primer.
Major whoops.
Question: Did Boots change the material they made their 4in1 wipes with? The new package feels rougher.
Got to catch a nap before I go back to work. Roll on Tuesday morning.0 -

Thanks Itzybitzy for the new thread. Also, thanks ladies for your kindness around my recent hideous bullying experience.
I'm going to break this post into pieces because the site has now eaten my first, second and third attempts whilst I was typing them.0 -
Asset, sorry to hear you're still having a bad time. Like you, I found that some people denied having seen things because they "didn't want to get involved" or we're scared of reprisals from my boss, who is the finance director and is known for ruthlessly getting rid of people who oppose him. It sounds as if being in your job is affecting you quite badly. My advice would be, think about moving. It's not an admission of defeat. It's a positive move by you, which lets you take control. I really wish you all the best.0

MA-ri-Ella, I was confused when I read your stash list and saw a reference to "B&H bath soak". I thought, "what, she really has some Benson & Hedges scented bath stuff?" (it was late last night) until I twigged that it was Baylis & Harding!
Trudij, sorry to hear about your guest's bad behaviour. Although the broken collarbone seems almost deserved, I think his real punishment is to be somebody so desperate and so lacking in humanity that he would steal from somebody who was a true good Samaritan.0 -
Anyway, just back from skiing holiday (excellent, if accidental, timing in view of nasty work grievance experience) which luckily resulted in several UUs, one of which was dearly bought......see below.
UU Aldi Lacura shimmering day cream. No SPF so used it when I came off the slopes. It works well and smells lovely, like peaches, but I WNBA. That's because I only use day creams with SPF.
Simple hydro lotion face protector, spf30. WBA, it worked really well and protected my face without leaving a white film of titanium dioxide like many sun creams do.
YSL gloss brilliant levres lip gloss. Comes in a clicky tube with brush like touch! !clat. It was 3 years old, so gorgeous that I had resisted using it! Adopted pink rose candle approach and used it for après ski glamour. WBA, it is lovely.
Korres guava lip butter. This lasted and lasted, like the magic porridge pot of lip balm, but finished it on the last day. Lovely stuff, but expensive. Would probably BA.
Finally.....a lip balm that broke one of my ribs! It was in an inside pocket when I caught and edge with one of my skis and fell on my side. The pain!! It was in a small hard plastic tube which was tougher than the rib. Anyway, not holding that against it I used it up on the last day. It was free with a nasty drink called vitamin water last year. The balm was good though, dragon fruit flavour with SPF 15. WBA unless I had to buy the vitamin water.......0 -
Also two TAs on ski hol.
The first was Jeff & Maggie lip gloss, which I'd forgotten about. Came from Matalan probably about 3 years ago, in juicy tube-type packaging but with deeper colour. Anyway it must have really gone off because it tasted like Chlorine! Chucked it, life is too short to put nasty tasting stuff on your lips.
The second was a Boots Soltan spf50 stick. It had done 4 years and was looking a bit battered so I decided to retire it.
Really proud of diminution in stash and I hope we can all keep it up this month!0 -

Oh Helen, your poor rib!
I have some interesting news. We've been offered a Mutually Agreed Resignation Scheme at work. We get a years wages if we resign before the end of March. If we go for it, we an't work for the NHS for 6 months. I'm seriously considering this. It would clear my mortgage and might leave me with the option of going for a weekday only job. I'm really not sure though. If I can't get another job, then we'll have no money. I've not done anything else and have no other qualifications. Also, DS is still at first school with no after school care until September. I would lose a lot of holiday and I would lose my pension which I have 10 years contributions to. I'm thinking not at the moment. If only I was 20 years older, I would do it in a heart beat and wouldn't actually need to get another job. Perhaps this is something that will come up again though?
It's very hard, I've always picked up the kids from school and wouldn't want to stop that.
Hmm, I think I've answered my own ponderings really haven't I?.
