No worries, glad to see you had a good wedding - sometimes it's nice just not to drink and just enjoy the atmosphere without seeing two of everything :rotfl: AND it's a bonus the next day when you wake up without feeling like you've got a mouth like the bottom of a birdcage and a hunger that makes you want to eat all day :rotfl: .... have a good one!
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:

It is a bit spooky that quite a few of us seem to have colds/sore throats, all that no-spending is taking it's toll lol.

I very rarely get colds, but I felt really lousy yesterday,I spent all day sneezing and now I have a red, sore nose which is not a good look.Oh well,I hope you are all feeling better.

CAFCgirl,it is lovely of you to try and help your BF with his finances,I'm sure he will thank you for it in the end.

I think £10 a week is quite generous, although I have got so used to not spending now that I don't know whether I will use it.

Unlike a lot of you on here,I don't make regular savings towards Christmas although I do buy odd things during the year when I see them. However,I think I am going to start doing this.I am guilty of spending far too much on Christmas presents,it all gets a bit out of hand.

I am going to make a start by putting any money that I get from doing surveys and Quidco and Pigsback vouchers towards Christmas, instead of going out and spending it as soon as I get it.

Well done Sue :T I bet you feel fantastic knowing you don't have to worry about interest and minimum payments.

I would also like a week off before the "unnecessary challenge" please Your Highness :D I think you're going to have to run this challenge your highness as you've proven your reign on this one :rotfl:

Those of us counting Sundays finish the challenge on the 6th April, those who don't finish on the 2nd April I think, someone please check my math :rotfl:

We go away on a 4 night break on the 9th April so there will be budgetted spending then but, if I worked it out right, we come back on the last day of the week off so I'll be ready for more no spends then.

I have lots to do today including catching up on my course work so it's a definite no spend today.

    Hi anniewoo

I'm the same as you, no actual budget but I also buy throughout the year. Well last year I decided NO. I have 8 children including my 2 and 12 adults to buy for

So this year I am putting away £20 a month for 11 months = £220. If I can put more away I will and have done so already. This will cover just the presents. I have also, thanks to this site, realised that if I start earlier this year I can make quite a few presents for my family, not the IL's though, so that will cut down the costs as well. I'm also, like you, going to save piggypoints for vouchers for xmas as well.

Regards the food/drink budget we're going to start buying a few freezer/cupboard items early this year so it's not such a huge whack in December. The Tescos vouchers in the September quarter I will also use for money off xmas food shopping instead of deals as this will also help.

I am hoping for a financially worry free xmas this year and I think due to the determination learnt on this challenge and the budgetting learnt on the grocery challenge I might be able to do it :rotfl:

So whats the feeling about the new challenge? Do people want maybe a week stop gap, and then go into new one refreshed? Or do you want to start straight away with the new challenge? I'm quite happy either way, although a week off would be nice, since it'll be Easter/Bank Holidays, although I probably wouldnt spend much anyway!

Give it a week and I'll join the next one ;) Although I will need some time off as my birthday will fall in the middle of it :j :j

Another week of no spend. I think CAFCgirl that £10 a week is very generous, I don't know what I will do with all that money. I am now so accustomed to spending nothing!

Same here. That's why I don't want a week off, as I don't want to ruin a good habit!

I think the consensus is to take a week break.

Now that doesnt mean that we all get to go mental for a week, so if you dont spend, all good, but we've also got to get out of the mindset that the the new challenge will have a time limit (i.e Lent) as it wont!!!

    ITS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :)

Plus if everyone's still happy for me to Lord it over the new one, I will :)
but having a week break will mean I can think and get your opinions on some definitive rules.
Even though I think all of us have done quite well in our understanding of necessary, I'd like to make sure that theres a more concrete explanation.
