Afternoon, what a beautiful day again, i wonder how long this good weather is going to last.
Was helping mum out at the charity shop today and have seen a few things i feel could sell well on ebay but iwill resist as its only 15ish days to go.
Did spend £20 on petrol the petrol tank hasnt been able to get onto the island for quite a while now cos of the awful weather and so theres now a shortage! I have a busy few days ahead so thought it best to fill the tank. c x

    Hi All

Been so busy in the last few days I haven't had chance to post

First things first no spends for me since I fell off the wagon :rotfl:

Are we starting the new challenge straight after this one CAFTGirl

Cafcfan re Easter eggs, we just spend on the children for easter usually small packs of eggs and do an easter egg hunt in the garden which they love. We don't even send easter cards. We've been doing this since we had the children because we just couldn't afford to buy for everyone (11 adults!) anymore . MIL still gives us all an easter egg each bless her. :EasterBun

CAFTGirl you still haven't answered us re what you did that was naughty? We are all waiting with baited breath you know :rotfl:

Hi folks - nsd for me except I gave my son 1p to put in a charity collection box.

I haven't bought any Easter Eggs yet. I only buy them for the children and to be honest was amazed to learn that people buy Easter Eggs for adults.

    LOL

    Kept you all waiting huh?!

Well I apologise in advance that I haven't given you all the perfect excuse to go out and spend! Because NO I didnt spend unnecessarily!

However the slight naughty thing I *may* (as in did do) was I did get into a conversation with BF's Mum about his money situation. And basically he's not very happy.

Although in my defence I am trying to help him out, and so is his mum, but he's just burying his head from it all, and seems to think he can sort it all out later on.
Basically it all started because his mobile phone has been cut off and his mum was trying to get hold of him because the bank have been calling her house for him, so she rings me etc etc.
And now she's opened some of his mail and is working out where and to whom he owes money.
I understand his point, that he feels we went behind his back, but I keep telling him its only because we care and want to help. So much so that I've downloaded, addressed and posted his bank charges statement request letter and his mum has paid the £10....

So thats my naughty little confession!

Besides that, nothing spent for another day for me :)

    Hi CAFCGirl

Mmmm bit disapointed now I was hoping for an illicit spend :rotfl:

Actually it may take a couple of weeks for your BF to thank you :o Men are very territorial where money and letters are concerned I'm afraid

My DH threw an absolute fit when I opened his credit card mail and he didn't have anything to hide :D I even tried to help re finances and got the same result. Once he had calmed down I was able to explain and thankfully he listened, I wasn't able to run our finances but I am almost able too :rotfl:

Good for you though tackling it head on it will work out if he's sensible :D

    Thanks hun,

I think he does understand what I'm trying to help him do, think he's more annoyed with his mum, and the fact that it's going to now get all round his family. Oh well, whats done is done, and I did it all for him!

Today will be another no spender, work to go to in an hour, will be there for 6 hours then back home to ............... well MSE lol
Throat is feeling a little bit better although I'm not sure all the jabbering about tea and coffee yesterday wont come back to haunt me later this afternoon!

So whats the feeling about the new challenge? Do people want maybe a week stop gap, and then go into new one refreshed? Or do you want to start straight away with the new challenge? I'm quite happy either way, although a week off would be nice, since it'll be Easter/Bank Holidays, although I probably wouldnt spend much anyway!

Hi CAFCGirl, hope you throat gets better soon! You should show your BF this post and let him know how much sense you talk :A

I would like a week's break before the start of the new challenge, although I don't intend to go mad anyway - but would just be nice to spend just a teeny little bit without thinking :money: :rotfl: We have friends down the weekend of 13 April, but have budgetted for them coming, so hopefully that will be okay and wont go over budget.

A no spender for me today, but did spend £673 yesterday  ...... but don't worry as it was to pay the balance of my holiday which I had put aside and is sitting in my account waiting to be removed. :D This is a real achievement for me, as normally I put it on the cc (an extra 2% charge  ) and then pay for it until the next year. Not this time tho', oh no, this holiday is bought and paid for :p
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:

 Well done Sue, that is what I'm aiming for with our holiday - I did put £205 for the ferry on the card but have the money to pay it off when the bill comes in, but think that I'm still paying off for last year's holiday on the other card!!!
Funny how a big spend like a holiday still seems essential! Anyway thanks to MSE I now budget for them.

Cafcgirl - I think you did the right thing regarding BF too - hope he's coming roud to seeing it that way.

Had a great night out at the wedding do & saved money:j

Both DH & I have this unnecessary cold/sore throat thing so in the end decided ''just to show our faces' meaning I drove so no taxi fare. Also no booze for me:mad: however we had a good night - great buffet - music etc and as they were serving fresh orange and coffee with the buffet even my non alcoholics didn't cost!
Sounds daft, but I think I enjoyed it more 'cos wasn't thinking about the cost.

Anyway no spend day here today - will try to summon up the energy to start listing on ebay - which is really necessary in terms of decluttering as well as hopefully money making.

I think I would apprreciate a week off before the next challenge too - again not to go mad but just to relax a little.
